Here is what I want to do....

I live in a mac household. I have a PS3 with my Plasma upstairs. I am thinking of switching to Netflix to take advantage of the downloadable movie deal they have. How would I network my Mac and PS3 so I could watch the Netflix stuff on my big screen? Is this possible or do I need to drag my old PC out and use that?

Can you not download the movies right to the PS3? (I'm asking - don't have one - is there drive space on those machines)

how about a mini-dvi to dvi adapter (from the apple store) and then a dvi cord.

    or

otherwise, mini-dvi to HDMI or VGA and then the corresponding cord.

Good suggestion, but don't want to drag a chord across the room to hook to the TV. Plenty of space on the ps3, but the issue seems to be btwn the Mac and the PS3. If you have Netflix, you can stream movies for free. They set up a deal with the xbox right now, so maybe I just move the xbox upstairs.

Does anyone know if you HAVE to have an xbox live account to use the netflix deal?

not sure about streaming Netflix, but I've been streaming avi, etc to both systems using Twonky Mediasever (yeah yeah, I know....a little archaic) but it works great (more so on the 360 than the Ps3 since it no longer supports AVI)

the best option really is to just output the video from your Mac
the new Plex is being received quite well

Figured right now instead of messing with programs and stuff right now, I'll just move the xbox 360 upstairs and hook it up. Not really using it and haven't had any great offers from any buyers. That way can stream Netflix.

I'll let you know my setup. I have a notebook, and I hooked the surround sound into my notebook's headphones jack and used an Audio cable converter so it would work with my surround.

Then I used an old VGA cable and hooked my notebook up to my plasma.

I dropped $40 at Office Depot on a wireless keyboard and mouse.

I setup my plasma as an extended desktop in the graphics properties.

Result? I'm sitting on my sofa, with a keyboard and a mouse, using my 52" as my monitor and if i wanted to play movies from other sites, like youtube, google video

etc etc I just control everything with a keyboard and mouse.

Plus its nice turning your plasma into a large monitor, it makes for awesome computer games and GoTitans.com looks great on it.
