It is possible that we go from celebrating the Titans 10 year anniversary to celebrating the franchises 50 year anniversary. The Oilers franshise was starting in 1960 so that makes 2009 50 years. There are a total of eight franshises that may be celebrating 50 years this coming season....Titans, Patriots, New York Jets, Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders. I think it would be pretty neat to see a game or two with the guys wearing some throwback jerseys.

Here is a link with some info about it and some other stuff.....

Meh. It's nice, but I just don't get as excited about it, since I only started following the team when they became the Titans. It's a great thing, and I'm sure it means a lot for a lot of people, but it doesn't get me going even as much as our ten year anniversary does. Those ten years mean something to me.

No offense meant to the long term folks.

Most, if not all, of those teams will be wearing throwbacks next season.

The Titans are expected to wear Oilers throwbacks for one or two games.

what if you were working at a bank or somewhere for the last 10-12 years or so.. and that place was celebrating their 100 year anniversary; would you embrace it, and boast about that place standing tall for the last century.. or would you dismiss it since you haven't been working there since 1909?

What about the 4th of July.. do you celebrate that, or do you ignore it since you weren't authoring the Declaration of Independence along with Thomas Jefferson back in 1776. :wink2:

a few times this season i thought about how cool it would be to win the super bowl during our ten year anniversary but i now see they were saving that big win for the 50 year anniversary

I love Tennessee now because of the Oilers moving there. Now I want to move around the Nashville area because I really enjoy everything it has to offer. However, 50 years is amazing and I think the Titans should wear and celebrate the franchise. The 10 year patch was cool, but I cannot wait for the 50 year patch. Born in Houston, the Houston part I will never forget, but life goes on and the Titans is where its at. TennesseeTians/Houston Oilers same team so lets enjoy everything we have been through even if Tennessee fans only joined in 97.

Actually I live an hour south of Chicago, IL now but I have no roots with the Texans if thats what your asking. Houston Oilers are who I have loved since I was a child, but my point is if you ask where did the Houston Oilers go the answer is the Tennessee Titans. Same team just new improved stadium, uniforms, and different team name. I remember going to Oiler games in 96 when no more than 10,000 people went and you could seat wherever you wanted. That means something to me, its called Pride. I will be with this franchise until the day it dies or I die which ever comes first.
