Big Question is what do we do at quarterback?

    Preposterous...
Collins experience with this team is invaluable. Just to "let him walk" would be the dumbest choice possible. When your window of opportunity is open like it is now you don't leave it to chance as you propose.

It amazes me that people blame KFC for this loss.

I look at Arizona with Kurt Warner and who his supporting cast is and i cant help but think what if Collins had those two WR's? IMO i'd sign Collins, start him next year, give him a dependable WR like Houshmandzadeh along with Jones, and Gage and see what happens. But knowing the Titans, asking them to spend money on #1 WR is like telling Jmac to go deep and make a play...not happening

Fisher failed with his guy. So I hope it's out of his system. But likely not. I forsee that Collins will be named starter next year on that fact alone, he is Fisher's guy. VY will demand a trade, Fisher will balk that he is still under contract and he is a titan, but it won't matter, because VY is making too much money, and he will get traded on the cheap, and will likely end up in Texas because the Schaub experiment is mediocre at best. We will practically give VY up for nothing. Collins will need a backup, and that is who we will draft. Simms may remain on board as a third stringer just because we can. That's what I forsee happening. I don't think VY is happy with anything that went down. He's just keeping his mouth shut for a few more weeks. Then it's all going to come out after Collins is named starter or signed. And it will be on. So all of the Collins supporters are going to be happy.

I won't care either way. It's just going to play out that way unless Collins goes unsigned. In that scenario, it's obvious, VY will be the starter, and we will draft a qb that we can go to if he sputters.

I don't think anyone is blaming Collins for the loss. He played well. What he didn't do is advance the team. So whatever moxy he needed, he didn't have. If it was his job to remind people to hold onto the ball, he didn't do it. If it was his job to lead us, he didn't do it. I don't know what was missing, but it wasn't there. The team sputtered again. 7 lousy points in the first half. 3 lousy points in the second half. No magic. Nothing. Notta. He wasn't special. Nor was the team. On every level the team failed mentally on offense.

Phi you're out of your damn gourd.. I fail to see how it's Collins' fault if Lendale or Crumpler fumbles. Do you really think "reminding" players to hold on to the ball is gonna make fumbles go away? These are NFL starters - it is clear they need to hold onto the ball..
There is a difference between sputtering and blowing active drives with turnovers. If the turnovers aren't there we're looking at quite a few points - maybe 27 or even 31 points.

Collins couldn't have done anything better. Hell, even his interception was basically just a punt. Luckily they didn't return it for much- but other than that...
He had to put the team on his back with the Balt defense knowing he was going to pass or we'd rush for 1 yard with Lendale also.

Collins did everything he should have with the exception of the one INT but in that situation I didn't even blame him for that one. He can't make Chunky hold onto the ball or Crumpler. And is it me, or does White seem to only fumble in critical situations when games are on the line? Anyway, I say we need to resign Collins, draft a mid round QB and be stuck with Vince as a back up for one more year until we can maybe get rid of him. As much as I liked him when we drafted him, I've seen enough now to know he isn't going to be #1 QB in this league. Too inaccurate and we would need a lot more TE's to cross over the middle for him.

But the problem with the logic is that Collins put the ball in people's hands who could not get the job done. He has to be smarter than that. He put his eggs into the basket of people who have been absent all season long. It's a failure to realize who should have the ball and who shouldn't when it's crunch time. It's too easy to say that a qb should just hope that every player can do his job. Because the reality is they can't. You have to know your team. White should never have gotten 15 carries. We all know it. Collins should have put a stop to that after the first 9 carries failed. But not only that, White gets 4 passes, when all year he only had 5. That's just asking for trouble. Crumpler wasn't even the 6th best receiver on the team, but he goes to Crumpler in the crunch. Winners want the ball. Collins should have controlled better who was getting the ball when it counted. Do you go to the cold players when it all counts. or do you get the ball to the hot players. It's simple quarterbacking to me. I just didn't see good decision making. He played well. He did his job physically. I just don't think he thought his way through the game.

I bring it up because we are talking qb's in here. Not because he is to blame. There were many more goats for sure. Including every player with a 15 yarder. But we are talking qbacking at this juncture.
