Actually to be voted into the pro-bowl fan voting makes up only 1/3 of the total. 1/3 players 1/3 coaches round it out. So 2/3 of the voting comes from "knowledgeable" people. All pro is voted only by writers.

I think Slaton has been more valuable to his team, he doesn't have anyone he's sharing the rock with. Plus he has played one less game. I am just saying I'm more impressed with him than I am CJ.

He doesnt have anyone else to share the rock with because all their backs are either on IR or hurt. If Brown and Green were playing i wonder if Slaton woud even play that much. C.J. has gone far beyond my expectations of him as rookie, his contribution is one of the reason why we won 12 games this year.

Im not downing anything Slaton has down....but he is not the main focus on his team. I think Slaton is an incredible back and a steal in the 3rd round, but Im pretty sure alot of his success is do to AJ being the main focus on that team. Slaton benefits from the same thing I said about Felix Jones....if you have serious downfield threats at WR(Which Titans dont have), even with just a decent Oline that threat helps open huge running lanes. Slaton has that advantage over CJ.

Teams cant put 8 in the box against the Texans to stop Slaton, or they will get murdered by AJ(Sort of like we did).

I'll make this statement now...regardless if its VY or Collins QB'ing next year...if Tennessee gets a true downfield threat at WR(Even if its a guy that keeps defenses humble)...you will see what CJ can do.

I'm not hating on what CJ has done either. Let's face it, we are a running team, and when you run the ball 40 times a game, you expect a RB to get his numbers, especially under Fisher. All, i'm saying is that against better defenses, Slaton seemed to play better, and has been more of a recieving threat. (2) 100 yd games against the Titans isn't shabby at all. He is tough, quick, can break the big play and tackles:) amazingly.

CJ has been underutilized, and therefor isn't as impressive to me as Slaton. Show me one game CJ has carried the team? Slaton has carried the Texans on more than one Sunday, even on the day the Titans shut down AJohnson.

I'm not hating on CJ, just giving Slaton more props.

Yes, without CJ we wouldn't be 12-2. Does that mean he is more worthy of a pro-bowl than Slaton? No

Do I wish we had Slaton instead of CJ? maybe. Like Gunny said, i'm not gonna go back in time and contemplate a decision that wasn't even mine.

Your right Slaton destroyed us in the first half of the first game....then what happened? He had what 17 yards the 2nd? Im not discrediting Slaton at all...but in no way am I gonna say he is better than CJ or vice versa, especially at carrying a team.

Look at their stats, they are almost exactly Identical, but guess one thing, Slaton has more 20+ yds runs....what helps rb's have longer runs? Having deep threats at receivers, opens up the playing field.

CJ only has 5 more carries than Slaton....where CJ is part of a dual back system(slightly less now) Slaton is the featured back, in a way more balanced pass/run offense.

And balance is certainly one thing Titans dont have that the Texans do....its either the run game is on, or the pass game is on, never both. Slaton has an advantage of being in better passing offense, where he isnt the main focus everytime a play is called.

Im sorry but if Im an opposing teams defense, as soon as I look across the line the first thing I would be looking for is if CJ is back there. Who else on the Titans would you worry about?

What if scenario, switch CJ with Slaton, or better yet send Andre Johnson here for a week...I guarantee CJ would easily getting 100+ yds a game if he wasnt the only thing defenses focused on.

Perfect example of this: Go back and look at the 4th and 3 call...there was a LB playing zone in the middle and another covering CJ, both of them moving to the right where CJ was heading....but yet we had one on one coverage w/ the WR's outside....Defenses could care less about our WR's, cause we barely have a respectable one.

for being the fastest player in the league, seeing 8 man fronts all day long, once he gets past the initial wave he should be gone. Slaton is breaking bigger plays against more base defenses, and you're still arguing this?

CJ's and Staton's numbers are almost identical. CJ has five more carries - but a few more yards. CJ has one more catch - but a few less yards receiving. Here is the difference:

Slaton plays on a team that is ranked 4th in the league in Passing Yards. CJ plays for a team that is ranked 25th. Teams play the Titans to stop the run. Teams don't gameplan for Slaton - not yet. The focus against the Texans is to limit their passing game. That is a big reason that Slaton has been so effective. I'm not taking anything away from him, but he plays on a team where he is not the focal point of the offense, while CJ and the Titans' running game is.

Im not arguing it, I even mentioned that Slaton has more 20+ yd runs, i think its 12 to CJ's 8.

We are arguing what if scenarios though.

8 or nine men in, especially when they are great defenders(Bears, Ravens) its damn near impossible for even great running backs to break out of that. But Im sure Slaton has not seen 8 or 9 men in as much as CJ has.

All Im saying is CJ and Slaton are both great backs, you cant go back and switch the two now to see who does better. You feel Slaton is more deserving than CJ(although I agree Slaton should be in the Pro Bowl over Brown)...and I feel that Slaton has a distinct advantage(Andre Johnsons deep play threat) in helping his running game that CJ doesnt.

We both acknowledge CJ and Slaton have the same stats, and are great runners....I think Slaton has an advantage, while you feel CJ should be breaking longer runs due to his speed.
