now I can't connect to the HOME server
maybe they're still opening all the ports ? or something ?
pretty sure todays difficulties are due to this launch

as long as this has been in development (and iirc, delayed) why is it still in beta ? didn't they award beta testing to hundred or so folks earlier this year ?

there's a good run on it over at Gizmodod
    seems noone can connect

18 million users all trying to get on at the same time - there are going to be issues (obviously 18 million are getting it at the same time, but a lot of people would be).

Home feels more like another video game. There aren't a lot of places to go now but I'm assuming this will change in the near future. It never gets old to see guys chasing and stalking chicks, though. lol

I've been actually addicted to the bowling game for the last few weeks.

in just a short time I got the Central plaza, theater, bowling alley, Sully's(?) saloon
spent quite a bit of time in the bowling alley
got pretty good at bowling, need more work at pool

I downloaded it but won't get a chance to jump on for awhile.

I heard in the beta there were long lines for bowling, pool etc is that still a problem?

Do you get to create your own guy?

you get to create your own character
kinda like the Avatars on Wii and NXE
however, there's not alot of options so far
unless you go to the mall and buy new clothes / accs, etc...
    which supposedly cost a $1 - $2 a piece

it's a shame there's only 1/2 dozen lanes to bowl
it was pretty crowded last night, but was damn near empty earlier today
4 people can join a bowling game, but once one starts, you have to sit there and wait, and there's no way to tell how many frames are left unless you ask ...there's also no queue to sign up for, so you can go off and do something else

i think it's be cool if you could join a waiting list and then run off to the theater or a bar ... when the game opens, it sends you an alert --- press join and you 'fast-travel' there .... but it don't work like that

    it needs some work
i played with some testers who were in when the beta was closed, and they say that not much has changed
there's some cool concepts at play here, but it's very restricting as to what can be done right now

but hey, it's free to own and free to play

Yeah, they basically didn't change much from the close beta. They did redesign the plaza a little bit and also added a game in the lake.

I do agree about the queue thing. That's the first thing that came to my mind. They should also split the screens above the sits into smaller versions and assign one to each lane so that it shows the score, just like it's done in real life.

it's a little odd that there's not much to do
trying to decide the point to the bar and train station when there's no train to catch (to other communities) or cold beer to drink

I mean , what's left to do other than bowl, pool, lame arcades, or watching the same preview/video over and over ?

and why doesn't it (or does it) keep track of games won / lost
can you get a plasma for your "studio" ?
there's something more than just a dang bubble blower right ?

there's got to be more than just running around talking (or trying) to talk to people you do not know and have little to say

it is funny though to see a group of dudes dancing around pregnant strippers, who's probably a dude anyway
