Tom Brady is out for the season. LT (much to the dismay of my fantasy football team) has been injured and reinjured and simply isn't producing. Paired with the loss of Merriman, the Chargers have taken a big hit. The Colts look like crap, plain and simple (as many people predicted on this forum). The Jags are 0-2. Looks to me like 4 out of the 5 AFC powerhouses aren't living up to the hype. As far as I'm concerned, Pittsburgh is the only team in the AFC that we should legitimately 'worry' about. In fact, Pitt, Dallas, and Philly are the only three teams in the NFL that I think have a clear advantage over the Titans... That being said, I think we could make a deep run into the playoffs this year. Opinions anyone? (I know its only week 2 but still, something to be excited about, right?)

I said as much last week but I think the Pats will still be tough. You might add the Bills to the mix as a team who looks to be improving. If Denver can find a defense to compliment their offense, they'll make some noise as well.

In the NFC, don't forget the Giants and Packers. I'm seeing the NFC close the gap that has been there between them and the AFC for the past few years.

I would have agreed about Philly and Dallas if I hadn't watched the game last night... both have some serious defensive issues to resolve before I'd count them as anything but September highlight reels. I put them in the same class as Denver - will look great until it counts and then might easily fizzle. Lots of time to correct those mistakes, though.

I think the Steelers are legit, as well as the Bills. The Colts and Pats should remain as the teams to beat for now, but they're not what they used to be... the door is open. As much as I'd like to think the Jags look like they're on the ropes, I'm expecting them to find a running game and climb back into it - but they've dug themselves a hole. A loss to Indy next week could leave them needing the AFC to have both wildcard spots again.

As for the Titans, I'm waiting to see them handle the next several weeks without laying an egg against a couple struggling teams, and then at least have a good showing against the Colts. I think we have the talent to take the division from the Colts, but we haven't had the consistency or the depth to close the deal in the past couple years. This team *looks* to have what it takes finally. I think we'll know in another few weeks.

The Titans would be the surprise team of the decade if we went 13-3. I find it quite unlikely that we finish ahead of Pitt, NE, and San Diego, but that would be nice

I doubt we're going 13-3. We have to beat Indy twice. The Jags again. Adrian Peterson. Brett Farve. The Steelers. The Browns.

This season is no cake walk.

Minnesota, a team with a similar build as ours, was able to, and should have, nearly beat Indy. We have beaten Indy before, so its not impossible, I see us splitting with them to be honest.

Nothing we haven't already done, and nothing the bills haven't already done, an 0-2 team shouldn't scare us all that much.

They are 0-2, and tavaris jackson is Quarterbacking, not a scary team at the moment.

Brett Favre and the 4-12 Jets team..

This is another game I see us losing.

yet another 0-2 team that has had questionable QB play and struggled to get it going offensively.

Our remaining schedule is 8-16 combined. Now I know it's not going to be any cake walk, but I seriously think Tennessee is one of the top teams in the AFC this season, and 13-3 with the recent series of fortunate events, is very much in the picture.

The Indy that you say should have been beat isn't the same Indy and should bounce back onced all the rust is off Peyton. And yes feild goals didn't cut it something that so far seems quite familiar with this offense.

With thier o line struggles I agree with this. I also think we can take them again this year but don't count them out. If that line can turn it around they will be back.

No matter how you slice it they are a much better team than last year. A lot of free agent pickups.

    I hope so.

We are off too a fast start with solid defense and a solid run game. If Collins can do what he did in a hurricane on a regular basis we should be one ofthe top teams in the AFC.

Don't forget that San Diego is two plays away from being 2-0 and New England doesn't seem to missed Brady as much as some poeple thought.
