Well, I was hoping for some some-what intelligent conversation about comparing Bethea to Sanders, but I guess that's going to be impossible now.

Why? Sanders does one thing well and wouldnt be able to do what he does as well as he does if Bethea wasnt on the team. Look at how Troy Polamalu's success decreased once Chris Hope left. Very similar situations.

How about this...you turn off ESPN and NFLN and go turn on an actual game. It would serve you well.

    Sanders- 15 GS, 96 tckls, 3.5 scks., 6 P Def, 2 Int
    Bethea- 13 GS, 65 tckls, 0 scks, 8 P Def, 4 Int

Each player has their own role. If it's Sanders being a big hitter and able to pressure the QB he's the best. In the case of Bethea he's just another S. Which is why Sanders is better. Sanders is a rare breed of a S and is a smarter player than Bethea. Sanders is top 5 while Bethea is around the teens. If you take away Sanders than Bethea would get chewed up, spat out, and thrown into the trash. Sanders is a pro-bowler while Bethea is a good player Sanders lead that team on defense. You can't replace leadership.

You don't have to go to games to understand that.

Sanders is a glorified linebacker that is just called a safety. He won't last 2 more seasons playing at the LOS 75% of the plays. He's not the biggest feller in the NFL.

The greatest thing he's ever done was somehow getting on the good side of the media. You can't watch a minute of ESPN or NFLN without hearing some crap about Bob. It stole him a Defensive MVP award, that's for sure.

Adrian Wilson and Kerry Rhodes are far better Safeties, IMO. Landry will be there soon.

:thumb: Nice job man. I agree with it, and Ive never really thought of how his role on the defense could very easily get him out of the league sooner than if he played like a normal safety. Im glad that somebody else has a clue.

True. The new Roy Williams of safeties. Makes a few big hits and people forget that he sucks in coverage. He'll be exposed before long, just like Roy was.
Titans actually win this one though, in my eyes. Griffin/Hope is unbeatable - assuming Hope is healthy.

What makes him great is that he isn't a normal S. You put Sanders into our defense and we'd be better. Put Sanders into any team and that defense will get better.

You're right, he isnt a normal safety. The average safety can cover and tackle. Bob can only tackle.
