Possibly a homer pick on my part, but I have such faith in our whole d-line I expect our DEs to be nothing short of fantastic. Kearse becomes more valuable than Mathis with the lack of attention he'll get... And I'd pick KVB before any other DE in the league. Favouritism!!

    Well...

It's hard not to vote for the combo of Freeney and Mathis. Freeney is one of the top 3 pass rushing DE's in the league and Mathis is very good but not good enough to do it alone. Freeney's been hurt but even played OK hurt. When healthy again, I expect he'll be back to his dominant ways.

KVB is a good pass rusher and a good run defender but we have no idea what if anything we'll get out of Jevon. He hasn't just been hurt, he's been less effective when healthy (except for a tiny spurt).

Texans might have the best ones considering Williams has looked like a #1 overall draft pick last year and 3-4 ends are more important to tying up blockers anyway and less about rushing the passer (and he still had a ton of sacks). But since I don't watch them very much and I feel like you can't really compare 3-4 ends with 4-3 ends, I didn't vote for them.

I'm not even sure whom the Jags will start at DE this year since you'd expect one or more of their DE pickups to win a starting job or at least play alot. Can't vote for the unknowns yet.

There could be some very good DE's in our division this year!

    Ah...

Thanks for the correction! Mario is a beast but I still wouldn't take him and his opposite over what the Colts have (assuming Freeney will be healthy). In a few years, that may change (or if Jevon has a big year).

Too many unkowns to rate the titans at the top here. Tough call between 2 possible future hall of famers in freeney and mario. Mario might be the best guy in the whole league so i voted for the texans.

kearse hasnt exactly been getting double or triple teamed out there. freeney is the focal point of the offenses gameplans. kearse is not

so those stats are a bit misleading

Actually, at the beginning in Philly, he was. He was not last year, but when he signed his contract, he was still regarded as a top DE. Besides, he's our 2nd best, and Freeney is your best.
