Paul Pierce has been a very underrated player the past few years. The playoffs have shown that he really is a top 15 player in the NBA. Plays defense, offense, he's a leader, and many intangibles. He's been head to head with Lebron James and now with Kobe. I know its only 1 game but the C's looked like a championship team tonight. Lakers are going to need alot more than just Kobe and I'm talking about more than Gasol because it seemed like all the Celtics players steped up tonight.

sorry, it wasn't the c's d. when good shooters like bryant, fisher and vujacic are missing wide open shots, they went cold. that's all there was to it.

    1st qtr- 47%
    2nd qtr- 50%
    3rd qtr- 40%

Lakers fans sometimes seem to be the most blind fans in the nba. Fisher and Vujacic are career 40% fg shooters. They are not good shooters. Yes they can sometimes get hot and shoot good but you can't use them shooting bad as a reason for losing, they've been doing it their whole career. I understand fisher usually steps up in big games but he also used to have shaq with him where he would get wide open looks where now they're contested looks. Vujacic is not a good shooter at all unless he's shooting wide open 3's all night. He has also looked like a deer in headlights for most of the playoffs. Lakers fans just need to realize, the reason you win is kobe bryant. It's ok, there's nothing wrong with that, he's good enough to carry a team. If kobe shoots 9 of 26 for only 24 points they will not win games. They're going to need him to shoot at either a higher percentage or just score a lot more points.

Lakers were rusty. Just like they were in game 1 vs the Spurs after the break. But this time they didn't put it together in the 4th.
Celtics D was almost non-existant and left the lanes wide open. If they do that again, they'll pay. The Spurs kept the lanes closed, and it worked pretty well. The Celtics left the paint wide open, and until the lakers went away from what was working - they were in trouble.

Bad shooting night though. And great night for PJ Brown. Chances of those 2 things happening again are slim, but that's the types of things the Celtics need to be competitive in this series.
This isn't the Cavs or Hawks. Celts drop a single game at home, and they're done. Instantly.

and lol @ paul pierce FAKING that leg injury. I told my friend as Pierce had to be carried off, "Watch. He'll come springing back from the locker room within 5 minutes"... and TADA!! Here comes Pierce running on his injured leg, shooting fade-away jumpers after planting on his "hurt" leg.

Dude's a drama queen and wanted to be a hero. That stuff is gay, and I lost all respect for him the moment he did it. Unless he had severe Diarrhea, there was no excuse.

did anyone else think that Paul Pierce injury deserved an Oscar award??? You don't get carried off the court in a wheel chair, then come back 2 minutes later and drain 3's from downtown....nice try paul...

Why the hell would PP want to fake an injury. That's stupid. It's blown out of proportion give the guy a break.

What king Kobe didn't show up? Lakers fans trying to cry about something else other than they're a 1 man team.

Not entirely sure, maybe his leg did hurt a little, but yea he blew the thing out of proportion as he was yelling in pain at 10:30 ET, and he was running full speed and jamming a basketball over pau gasol at 10:35 ET. Just doesn't happen, teamates carrying him off the court? Him telling the doctor "Let me stand! Let me Stand Doc! I want to play!" Just seems a little scripted, and way to picture perfect.

And like gunny said, It did work, I think Paul saw the opportunity to become a "hero" and took full advantage of it.

The funny part of this was, Kendrick Perkins actually got injured a few plays later, and when he entered the arena again I don't think a dozen people even noticed. :ha:

But I don't think boston will win it. The 2-3-2 format favors the Lakers IMO. Even though they don't play 4 games at home, they play 3 in a row and could end up going back to boston with a 3 game win streak and up 1 game carrying all the momentum.
