How about if he wins 3 more titles, 4 more mvps and 6 more finals mvps and a defensive player of the year. If he does all that he'll be in the discussion.

He broke the heart of the trailblazers during the regular season? I can imagine they never overcame those losses that had no impact on their season. Kobe has broken hearts in the playoffs but he hasn't since shaq left until this year.

Stats don't always matter. Their was an article on how Robert freakin' Horry should be in the HOF on ESPN.com Considering that even though the Lakers do have Gasol, Bryant has carried this team. The most talent Bryant ever had around him was O'Neal. Jordan has had Pippin, Rodman, etc. If you look at the roster for the Lakers no one would think that's a title contender. No disrespect to MJ but KB might take over the #1 spot and look out for Lebron.

All Kobe had around him was O'Neal? Only arguable the most dominant centre in NBA history.

Titles, MVPs and ALL-NBA Teams are above stats.

Kobe Bryant almost single handidly won the toughest Western Conference Championship in NBA history. Gasol has never made it past the 1st round and the only veteran along with KB was Fisher. Luke Walton, Ronnie Turiaf, Jordan Farmar, Vujacic, Radmonovich, Ira Newble, Chris Mihm, etc. I'm pretty sure he's already in the discussion, I don't think he's #1, yet.

As Kobe just said 'Let me be me'

How was that the toughest Western Conference Championship in history? They won 4 - 1.

I never said anything about Jordan. All I said was their might be a chance at the end of his career he might be the greatest of all time. He was being compared to Jordan in the interview not overall greatness.

Only because teams 1 - 9 are good and the East is so weak it boosts the wins.

I'm sure it's more than just that but it does benefit a little bit. Same thing can be said about the bad western teams boosting wins for the 4 best eastern teams.
