He also had one of the best QBs in the nation. Davis' QB was below-average, at best.

I take Corey Davis all day over Mike Williams. Davis is such a more refined route runner than Williams. Everyone talks about Williams and his ability to make the contested catch well Davis does a great job of winning 50/50 balls as well. We won't have accurate times on either guy, but Davis just looks quicker/faster on tape. I really like the fact that his head coach was a former wr coach in the NFL. I think that has helped Davis become the most NFL ready wr in the draft.

And Davis was the only thing CMU had going. He was the first, second, and third key for opposing defenses.

Davis was more productive. Over four years. In year-to-year comparisons. With considerably less talent around him.

Mike Williams back-shouldered his way through the schedule. One-trick pony.

The talk this offseason was the inconsistency with the WR play. Inconsistent route running was something mularkey had harped on and he even fired his WR coach because of the up and down play. This to me says we want refined WR and will place a premium on WRs who do the little things well and focus on their craft not slide by on their athleticism. That alone makes me think we favor Davis and I hope I'm right if we do select a WR. I think the trend will be selecting players who are productive and polished coming out of college rather than players with sky high upside who didn't exactly put it all together this far. It's refreshing because Ruston seemed to be the polar opposite.

He was hurt so that doesn't really count. Also harder to put up numbers with more talent because balls get spread around more.

Harder to put up numbers with less talent because you're the sole key for the defense.

Williams blew it with his 40 speeds. He was never the WR other's made him out to be anyway. Godwin is the WR we need.
