You're taking it too far lol. I'm pretty sure we have a first ground grade on at least 1 CB. LOL

What I am implying is theoretically your board would already factor in need/value/talent.

Thats why you set the board.

On what planet does Myles Garret fall to #5?! That's like saying Laremy Tunsil could fall to #13! Oh wait a second...

Or you did a board based on talent and talent alone. But, I get what you are saying.

I mean sure but do you really think the processing of drafting is so black and white? No it's why teams spend so much time evaluating and scouting and running analytics. Just because we have a first round grade on a CB doesn't mean he won't get selected before we pick or that we won't have other prospects rated higher than him.

You guys are both right and both wrong. Sure teams stack their board, but each player also has a grade. They stack the board by round, but each player also has a specific grade and they will be stacked that way. So if you have 3 cb's in round 1, the highest graded player will be on top. But they will be divided by position. Most teams with have 15-20 or so players with 1st round grades on avg so it comes down to who 'falls' (since each team grades differently) and what team takes who where. You will never get into a situation in which your '20th ranked player' gets selected over a '17th ranked player' since they don't 'rank' them that way. They are broken up by position and each position is stacked. Each player has a grade so you can easily see which players are close and where there are gaps.

Additionally, they have role played the various scenarios a couple of dozen times so they have a pretty good idea what the options will be based on who gets taken in front of them so they have already game played how the rest of the round is likely to play out. They also will have a good idea of who is looking to move or not and for what or where or what capital they might be willing to move.

The goal is not to just go value or need but maneuver your way to match need and value at the proper value for your grades. You don't want to take a lower graded player for the sake of filling a need and you don't want to take the highest rated player at a position of strength if it's not gonna help us.

As I have been preaching for years...forget this BPA nonsense and understand that players and draft picks are currency. You don't want to over pay for a player but at the same time you have to address those needs. JRob has already shown he understands it...even if he has overpaid for some players (Conklin) and taken value (Henry) when he didn't need to.

We'll see how he approaches this draft. With a clearer picture of what's wrong with the team, cap values and contributions of players, and what we need, we'll have a clearer picture of how he'll try to move us to the next level.

Not bad I have to say. Perhaps we get a WR in FA as well as some linebackers.

I'd like that draft. Pick up 1 top CB in FA and you've set the secondary up for the next 5-10 years if the guys pan out.

I'll be honest, half way through I was picking at random because I had no idea who the guys were lol. But here is what I came up with:

    Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 8 (CAR): Reuben Foster, ILB, Alabama (A+)
Round 1 Pick 21 (DET): Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan (A+)
Round 1 Pick 23 (NYG): Sidney Jones, CB, Washington (A-)
Round 2 Pick 21 (DET): Adoree' Jackson, CB, Southern California (B+)
Round 3 Pick 37: Justin Evans, SS, Texas A&M (A+)
Round 4 Pick 18: Jake Butt, TE, Michigan (C+)
Round 5 Pick 20: Nazair Jones, DT, North Carolina (A)
Round 6 Pick 30: Johnathan Ford, FS, Auburn (B+)
Round 7 Pick 18: Ben Braden, OG, Michigan (B-)
