I agree. Ayers has to go, man. I'm not impressed with his efforts at all.

Totally agree about Lewan. He was never even in danger of getting beat by his guy.His reaction to the snap and great footwork helps him beat the rusher to the spot by a comfortable margin most times when pass blocking. But this was against the 2's/3's so we'll see how he holds up against the 1's (Clowney was raw but throwing guys around in his 1st preseason game).

In regards to Huff though, that pass that was caught just over him wasn't on him. The secondary was in cover 3 and Huff looked to have the flat/hook zone. Micah Pellerin was supposed to cover that deep third but he got run off by the #1 receiver on his side running a post route. Once the guy cut to the post, Pellerin was too slow in passing him off to the safety and coming down to make a play on the ball. The play looked bad for Huff because he realized that Pellerin wasn't where he was supposed to be and tried to go make the play. Pellerin had a horrendous game and will likely be cut fairly soon. He def got beat badly on that play in the end zone though, I think he was looking for the slant.

Pellerin played 37 snaps; played 54 percent of the defensive snaps on Saturday. Only Huff played more defensive snaps. Pellerin was targeted two times (three if you say he was supposed to pass off the receiver to the safety) resulting in one offensive pass interference call on a deep ball where he had good one on one coverage, one 13 yard catch at the end of the first half when Titans were playing soft zone. Pellerin demonstrated an ability to shed the double team and get down field in a hurry when playing gunner on punt team. He did get trucked at the goal line after fighting off his blocker to step up to take on a hard charging 230 pound running back. Would not have come to that had Stafford not missed a clean open field tackle. Hardly a horrendous game. From the public practices I've personally observed, Jason McCourty aside, Pellerin has been as "consistent" or better than most of the other CBs in camp. You are right about one thing though, thirty-seven players will be cut by September 1.

So Pellerin was targeted 3 times. One resulted in a PI, another in a 13 yard catch, another for a big gain where he blew his assignment, and he got trucked into the end zone (it looked like he wanted no part of that RB). In what world is that not a horrendous game? When the best thing you can say about an NFL corner is he "demonstrated an ability to shed the double team and get down field in a hurry when playing gunner on punt team" doesn't that tell you all you need to know about the guy? From where I stand he had 4 opportunities to make a positive play and didn't make any of them, that's bad. He sure was consistent though, consistently bad. Maybe he'll redeem himself next game
