Of course the fact that he was a celebrity household name has a lot to do with the sympathy. Everybody loved the guy. He entertained millions over the years... so yea, he gets more of a pass for his contributions than some suicidal loser from Knoxville who did meth and had no teeth would have.

You can't pretend to know what was going on in his head. The bigger issue here is that he likely wasn't getting enough help from his family, friends, and doctors. Everyone close to him knew he was depressed... I guess they just didn't think he was depressed enough to kill himself.

Mental illness does not qualify as physical pain? I guess if that is what you believe then there is no further reason to debate.

Beliefs are one of those things that are impervious to debate.

Why do you always insist on turning a conversation into something it is not? We are debating the "selfishness" of suicide in general. Not just as it pertains to RW. I haven't seen one person say "Normally I think suicide is selfish but not in this case because it's RW". Personally I'm not giving him anymore of a "pass" (whateverTF that's supposed to mean) than I would a "normal family man".

"Destroy" others lives? Wow. Talk about melodramatic. Death of loved ones happens. It sucks but is something we all have to deal with and eventually move on from.

Whatever happened to that whole "life's not for the weak" thing?

Alex, you are correct. Suicide is selfish.

Leave it at that though, because you are clueless when it comes to the rest of the subject. You sound very Rolltide'ish in this thread.

Sorry to throw such an insult, but you have gone off the deep end here. Maybe the subject hits too close to home.

Oh, and life is for the living. That includes the weak, the strong, and everything in between.

Dude, no, don't even apologize. He has been nuts lately. He is the new World Peace/RT and I am not even trying to be 'edgy' when I say it. Rambling, assumption filled, incoherent and illiterate are the words you use to describe his posts these days.

Hes usually in political threads and politics sucks, so I really haven't noticed much.

This threw me off. I honestly couldn't believe what I was reading.

Yep you can now waste any nonsense you want to say on someone else. The physical pain I am talking about can't be compared to the physical pain from MENTAL pain. But then again, i guess you probably haven't had experience with anyone in true physical debilitating pain.

So basically you absolve Robin Williams of committing suicide regarding the effect it has on his family, right? They should just get over it and it's not selfish of him to do that, he would've just died some other way eventually. This is your logic?
