Players/coaches have thrown games in every sport for a long time. You wouldn't need an entire team to be in on it, because the nfl is so competitive. You put a guy like painter at qb, call bad plays on o, call bad plays on d and put in young inexperienced players. Only the owner and the coaches would have to be in on that. Why would the coaches do something like that, maybe money, maybe they were told they wouldn't loose their jobs if they did it. Who knows, I don't have any concrete evidence to support my theory nor am I 100% sure that they did. But to say that it would never happen, you trust in this league far to much

Peyton just wanted to earn that check while sitting.

Still say only reason Caldwell sniffed the SB was due to Peyton.

I don't trust the league. This has nothing to do with trusting the league. It would be incredibly stupid to tank a season on hopes of drafting one player to save a franchise especially when you already have one of the best to ever play the position. That kind of stupidity is generally not seen with a team that has only twice lost the division since the AFC south was created. I think we have all seen that there is no certainty to the draft.

I hate the Colts as much as the next guy, but to say they tanked for Luck is just some dumb a** *hit.

For the record I could possibly see throwing the last game, but to say someone tanked a season is absurd.

Im sure no team would or has gone into a season thinking that they need to lose to get a player that could bust. Im not saying that. But once the season got rolling and they saw what they had, it's very possible they tanked a portion of the season.

as much as I hate to say it they totally redid their O roster that season. Went from a finesse prissy arsed pass first then keep passing team to a multiple TE/FB running team. Which is just what that useless sad sack of a loser Luck needed to prop his lame-o skill set up.

I think they fired Polian - eventually, but he was so much a superior GM than anyone the Titans have had. Up to Webster that is.

Webster has been the best GM the Titans have ever had. Even better than Reese IMO.

The moment there is actual evidence that an NFL team deliberately tanks the season (I'm talking about NBA-style tanking over the course of the entire season - not just the last one or two games), the NFL will institute a draft lottery.

It hasn't happened yet because there's no evidence.

Not really. His success really just came because of Peyton. He couldn't draft a defence to save his life. He got, what, 2 good players in Freeney and Sanders his entire time there?
