    Check his numbers and accuracy.

    This argument doesn't work anymore.

Even guys coming from these spread systems are turning into starting NFL quarterbacks.

People said the same about Newton. Dude is damn near dominant.

Ok, then who do you think will be the Bortles of this year? A guy not getting much attention who will end up going high.

Why would you resign a QB you spent a top 10 pick on that is not near top tier?

    Let him walk. Draft again.

The Bortles pick will prove to be Gabbert 2.0 IMO

I think Petty could rise higher. Possibly jump Winston or Hundley.

    Connor Cook could jump too.

    You are crazy.

    Mariota is 6'5 and ~220lbs

    More accurate than Newton.

    Probably faster than Newton.

    Played in similar style offenses.

Mariota would have gone top 10 THIS year.

1st of all, I never said that we shouldn't draft another QB. I think we should. I was just saying if he is playing slightly above average, then you might as well offer him another 2 year deal. He can probably be had for pretty cheap if that is the case. If Locker plays average - above average this year, then there is a good shot that we are competing for a PO spot ... You don't drop a QB that gets you into the playoffs. If he is injured again or sucks it up, then sure let him walk. But if he stays healthy and is a decent QB this season, then why let him walk? Just because we draft another QB doesn't mean you cant sign Locker to compete/backup. Especially if Locker already knows the system, he would most likely be better week 1 than a rookie. Then if the rookie does push Locker from the starting spot, you either have a good back up, or some trade bait.

Average Locker is getting us to 8-8.

Top 15 Locker is maybe playoffs but I still doubt it.

We are not just a QB away. We need more.

Also, if Locker is decent and stays healthy, we will be picking in the middle of the draft at the earliest again. So its not like we will be looking at a top QB in that scenario. Even more reason to sign Locker to a cheap 2 year deal.
