Well I can say thank you to you for posting that, because all along us Titans first fans have been calling him out on it while the other side has been saying "you dont think CJ wants yards"...

Yea he wants yards the same way we all want to win the lottery.

    That's more fair.

My issue is that, since it's CJ2K, the "playmaker" SHOULD get 1k yards. At least.

Him getting 1k yards isn't that impressive to me. Add 200 or 300 yards to that and you have my attention.

I dont think anyone on here doesn't appreciate what he's done it's what he hasn't done lately not to mention his attitude has gone downhill. No sense of keeping a guy for all the wrong reasons.

No one, including AP, has accounted for more of a teams total rushing yards since 2008. If he didn't bust his but he would have just faked an injury and collected his check.

His attitude has remained the same since he entered the league.

I don't think his effort on gameday on the field was the problem. I think the Titans felt he should lead by example. Being the biggest star on the team and making a whole lot of money, the Titans wanted him to be the first to show up and last to leave during preparation. Be it film study, practice, meetings. That wasn't CJ. I can understand the Titans disappointment in him over that.

I agree that saying 1,500 is the new 1,000 is a bit much. But I think the whole point here is that 1,000 yard seasons do not automatically put you in the Hall. It's just not that much of an accomplishment. Especially not when you're averaging 290 carries per season over the course of your career.

To be clear, I'm not saying he doesn't have a shot at the Hall. Honestly I think he has himself in decent position. But it all depends on what he does over these next 2 or 3 years (because that's likely all he has left). I think he's gonna have to really want it and put forth a much greater effort than we've been seeing out of him these past couple seasons. Because even the CJ defenders have to admit that the effort hasn't always been there lately. And he HAS lost some burst. Still one of the fastest guys out on the field? Yes. But he ain't "homeless" anymore.

I'll never be a CJ fan again. He's just burned too many bridges with me. But I still respect what he did on the field those first 3 or so years. And we still saw flashes of it here and there lately e.g. that tough run against the Texans I think it was last year where he bulldozed his way into the endzone. That was a thing of beauty. And that's a perfect example of why I can't stand the guy. He should be giving that type of effort all the time. Not just when he feels like it or thinks he has something to prove. It shouldn't matter if he thinks the line sucks. Or he doesn't like the way the coaches are using him. Or insert other crybaby excuse here. I'm not saying I expect 100% effort 100% of the time. I think most players take a play off here and there. But the kind of effort we were getting out of CJ given what we were paying him was nothing short of pitiful.

He made up a new position for himself (playmaker). He wanted his "history deal". He wanted to be the star of this team. And he got it all. Biggest contract for a RB in history (at least at that time). We force-fed him the rock even when he clearly wasn't being effective. And yet he still pissed and moaned every chance he got and flat out REFUSED to accept any responsibility for the run game's issues.

Okay I started ranting here, but my whole point is I think CJ needs a major attitude adjustment if he truly cares about winning championships and/or making the Hall of Fame.

CJ accomplished a lot and gave us some good memories but the NFL is a what have you done for me lately league. His 8 mil wasn't worth what he could give in return. Funny how when he outperformed his rookie deal he wanted paid but now he's underperforming his current deal he won't restructure, he wants out and will probably sign for the same money he'd get in a restructure elsewhere.
