Stick to your guns Wimbley!!! Any player that Stars on an American Ninja is always guaranteed their $6 Million Dollar Plus salary, just as long as you dress for Titan games (in full uniform) and your last name isn't a Johnson, Verner, Biornas, Stewart, Finnegan....the list is long and distinguished, but you get the picture.....

They like you, they'll pay you, just deliver a few sacks per year and your good....what ever you do, don't work too hard, not ever miss a game and continually produce year after year, since the Titans front office hates players like that....!!!

A statrment like this is an insult to actual slaves. Football is not modern day slavery. Slavery is modern day slavery. It exists all over the islamic world.

assuming you will allow actual facts to affect your feewings I offer this link

'Fantex is paying Foster $10 million for a 20 percent stake in his future income, including contracts, endorsements and other related business revenue. '

AF was selling himself at auction. The Cows, as turrible as they are, had zero to do with it.

In my mind, their compensation has no bearing on whether it is slavery or not. What does have bearing is that they signed themselves into this, so they have free will and cannot be construed as slaves.

It's not slavery, it's just business. Of course we all want Wimbley to take a pay cut. He has not performed to justify his contract. Just remember that when a player over-performs on a contract and holds out, that it is also just business and he is playing the only card he has to get changes made.

And I'm another one that read the thread title as Wimbley asking the team to cut his pay...

And these players know exactly what the deal is when they sign these contracts. If they want their entire contract guaranteed then they should negotiate their contract to be as such. There is nothing stopping these players for negotiating a deal for the entire contract to be guaranteed.

Your comparison to slavery is ludicrous and ignorant.

If they had competent management they would have their contract guranteed by Lloyds. At least due to injury.

I agree 100% that the slavery thing is one of the dumbest things ever said on this board.

But, there is a lot that stops them from signing a fully guaranteed contract. The teams won't sign them to these types of contracts because they know what would happen. It's one of those unwritten rules of sports. CAA, cover all asses, if they signed these guys to contracts like this players would lay down and collect a check left and right. Just saying

Great response! Writing in sarcasm exclusively will definitely convince everyone to stop making fun of your posts eventually!

    Great work!
