I just really do not want to go through another rookie QB. They always look so good before the draft. Especially after the pro days and after Chucky Gruden washes their balls for the NFL Network.

    The reality of drafted QBs:
    • Less than two thirds of QBs taken in the first become reliable long term starters
    • Less than half in the second and less than a third in the third
So why not take a late round QB? We could get the next Tom Brady potentially. Well consider this:
    • Most QBs taken after the third round are out of the league within four years
    • Since Tom Brady was taken in the sixth round in 2000 the best QBs taken late have been Tony Romo, Matt Cassel and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Marc Bulger was actually taken in the sixth round the same year as Brady
    • With a late round QB you are more likely to get another Rusty Smith than another solid starter. Heck, you are more likely to get another Rusty Smith than a solid backup even

Which is why I really want to see it work out with Locker. Too much risk with a rookie.

I think, no matter who is on your team, you need to be drafting a QB every two-three years.
