I classify it as solid, with potential to be very good.

At best yes. I'll roll with this line of thinking for the time being. He's here so might as well embrace it.

I worry more about Woodyard more than anyone. I like the player, but hearing that we plan to play him inside concerns me a bit. Curious to see how we plan to keep him clean. I know he will play nickel, but his contract is a bit hefty for just nickel. We shall see.

I do not like the signing at all, but like Oher he's here for 2014 so might as well deal with it.

I still hope we go ILB first 2 picks to really solidify the position.

How long has it been since we had a real ILB? Regardless of scheme. Its been forever . I would love for us to finally land one.

8 Ravens games in... I have seen some slip in production by Oher in these last two. He's given up several QB pressures and a couple more sacks. He was called for his first penalty (holding) against the Steelers in week 7 and gave up a sack to Woodley. Against the Browns he allowed close to as many QB pressures as he had the entire season (hopefully that's a good sign for our D with Horton). He also completely missed a block and Rice was tackled 3 yards in the backfield.

All in all, I still like the signing.

Having watched eight Ravens games now, I can say that it's a damn shame we weren't able to get Daryl Smith. That guy is all over the ball and always making plays.

Or atleast like what Chicago did last year w/ Bostic & Greene. We need to seriously invest some attention at ILB.. im thinking CJ Mosley.

Not a great signing, but a decent one. Fills a need. Oher was not very good last season, but that applied to the entire Ravens O line.
As far as overpaying is concerned, a lot of people do not realize that you have to overpay for certain positions. Tackle is one of them. Someone please show me the last time an OT was signed for a ham sandwich during FA. Certain critics blast the Titans for overpaying for Oher? Those same critics praise the crap out of Denver for their acquisitions. Really? They signed Talib to a six year $57 Mil contract with $26Mil guaranteed. This guy, in the past, has either been injured or stupid or both.
