If Mosley is better than Lavonte David we damn well better take him. Unfortunately, I don't think that's a true statement. I don't trust Bama players and Mosley didn't look all that great when I sat down and watched him play.

I said it before it happened and I'll keep repeating it... When we took Zach Brown I shook my head and just asked "why not Lavonte David?!?!?"

I'm comparing them when coming out of school, not at this moment obviously. He's bigger than David according to combine measurements.

Just because he didn't have any int's doesn't directly mean he's not skilled in pass coverage, it's actually one of his biggest strengths. He still has 5 career int's despite always splitting time until last season, even then he still had 5 pass deflections. I don't really care about the number of sacks or int's a LB has in college, David was asked to blitz a lot more than Mosley so he racked up sacks but has 1 career int. However, at this level we can see David is more than just a pass rusher, like Mosley he plays well in coverage and is a tackling machine. Mosley is a 3 down player, very smart, very instinctual, kills it in the gym, a leader, and the smartest defender Saban has had at Bama. My only concern with Mosley is his injury history, I wouldn't call him injury prone, he's as tough as anyone else, but any reasonable guy would have concerns with his list of injuries no matter how many games he's played.

I also know that I'm pushing hard for Mosley in this post but unless we fill our need at MLB in FA then we're desperately going to need a guy, heck, even if we do sign one guy we're still going to need help. He's definitely in the top 5 guys I want, probably top 3.

David was very popular on this board if memory serves me correctly, look at my latest post, didn't mean to say Mosley is better than David now just saying I think Mosley can/will be and they're comparable because they're similar in size.

Oh come on, him not missing a game is the result of his hip injury happening in the last game. Purely coincidental.

I honestly hope that you guys are right and he does not live up to his contract expectations, because if he turns out to be worth what he is getting paid, we are going to have a hell of a time beating the Colts for number one in the AFC South.

Should be fun tho, can't wait!

    Damn it's a long offseason.

To be fair towards the hip injury, it was a shorter recovery time than he thought (he only rehabbed for a month).

Even coming out of school David had some of the best instincts I've ever seen for the MLB position, I don't get the same vibe from Mosley. Doesn't mean he won't be good but he's not better than David.
