I didn't miss your point. I just disagreed with it. Seattle is a top notch organization, I think they'd be perfectly capable of looking past perceived value when making a deal. Like I said in this case perception is reality. CJ's perception still matches the reality. No one sees him as a top 5 back anymore which is fair but he is still considered by most outside of this board as a top 10-15 back.

Give him a year with the new regime and a line that hopefully improves after mostly playing together all of last year. If he doesn't live up to expectation, cut him next year. I don't care what he cost this year.

Id be willing to bet if he has a good year the same people who say he sucks will be making excuses to why he had a good year without giving him any credit. The Oline played great, I could have run through those holes! It was the great play calling...etc. at this point, he won't please Gotitans no matter what it seems.

Has anyone noticed every off season we always say "give CJ another year"

Why do we have this problem with our players?

We say the same thing about Locker. I thought last year was the "stay healthy and beast or you're out" year but somehow that has become this year. We have that mentality because the team has been in transition for so long that every year presents a new possibility for guys like CJ and Locker. If CJ sucks this year again but the line plays well and Jake gets hurt bad again I'm in favor of cutting both their asses. This is the last "show me" year to me.

Coolio, I'm glad you're not the gm of my favorite team. I would hate to pick up CJ for 8 mil when I have Marshawn Lynch and Christine Michael in the backfield.

We have too many damn guys like this.

There's CJ, Locker, Hunter, Walker, Levitre, Warmack, Schwenke, Thompson, McCarthy, Ayers, Brown, Hill, Martin, Wreh-Wilson, Sensabaugh, no freaking wonder we're always hovering around .500, we have very little star power, aside from Wright and Casey, we dont really have anyone who takes over the game for us.

I'm not quite sure what it is you're even talking about but at no point did I suggest it would be wise for Seattle to acquire CJ. For the record it would be extremely dumb if them. The point I was trying to get across was that if they wanted a Titans running back they would take CJ over Greene all day every day. But feel free to twist my words. I'm no GM nor do I ever claim to be. The whole argument was that CJ is a more valuable back than Greene both from a perceptional as well as a talent stand point. Seattle is a good organization and if HYPOTHETICALLY if they were choosing between the 2 CJ is the easy choice, not even sure how salary got involved in this one. Good organizations are able to see through "perceived value".

I can't say I disagree with any of that and is part of the reason I lean towards keeping CJ. We just don't know what we'll get from these guys so it makes me uneasy to let go of a player who has proven production even if he's underperformed recently. If CJ had Chirstine Michael and Turbin backing him up with Russell Wilson at QB it would make the decision to cut him loose very easy. Unfortunately for us we have a very unproven roster outside of Wright. All of these guys could turn out to be great or be massive disappointments. Sad to say it but this is where we are right now. That's why we latch on to potential so pathetically; it's all we've had for the last few years.

Chris Johnson got paid $10M last season, he shouldn't need a whole lot of much to succeed. Despite fewer yards than the year before, he did look better than 2012, so deep down I suppose I'd be ok with him being back, but ONLY if he stops folding so easily when defenders look at him. That drives me nuts, thats what WR's do, not RB's.
