This is crazy. I still rate Mack over him based on game tape but the idea that we could get either one of these guys is incredible to me.

I think it's a pipe dream that either will be there at #11.

I would jump out of my chair if pick #10 came and went and one was still available... but knowing us we'd blow it and pass on them. Sorry - I had to say it (a lot of people slam me for not having faith when I make a simple joke).

In the Fisher era there's no doubt in my mind we would take Jake Matthews regardless of who was available.

His official 40 time(4.66) was ok but not overwhelming, the rest of his workout was mediocre at best. Only 15 reps and 34.5 vertical.

Good size at 6'5 255 but is he the elite edge rusher we are looking for?

Size and athleticism are identical to Adrian Hubbard but he was much more productive. .

Hubbard had a terrible year with only 3 sacks.

I don't think it is a slam dunk even if he is there when we pick.

And what would be wrong with that? If Matthews is there at 11 we have to take him. He is one of the top 5 prospects in this draft.

Fisher would trade up to #1 to take Matthews.

1.56 10 yard split, same as Clowney and Mack. Looked good in space, fluid and athletic in drills. Fell once, 40 was a bit slow, and bench was weak, but his game in not engage and shed, but overall he looks like a edge rusher who can handle backs and tight ends in coverage. 2 years at OLB, room for improvement.

43 DE expectations are obsurd, were obsurd and the tape shows it. He's a hybrid/edge/moving space player in as 34 or hybrid defense. Nothing has changed. Still reminds me of D. Ware when he came out of Troy athletically.

Im pretty sure Weak side or LEO expectations will be met, and he'll make an impact. IMO the problem is people keep expecting him to fit 43 teams, block and shed. In that role he fails short term for sure.

So regardless of who's available at #11 we should just take Matthews? Okay, Fish.

I would have no problem with us taking Matthews if Mack/Barr and all top QBs are gone. My point was that Mack/Barr could be available and Fisher would still draft Matthews just because he's friends with his dad.

Least favorite possible pick. He has issues turning the corner. Hips are a little tight.
