I don't think he'd fit with certain teams. But we know Whiz was a good QB developer for Ruthlessraper and resurrected Rivers career.

He could be a good guy to have for Manziel.

But I agree... There is no way he will succeed if he comes to the NFL and tries to play the same way he did in college. He will learn that quickly. It's a question of whether or not he can adapt. I think he can.

I don't see how 'as long as he doesn't do what he did in college' is a reason to justify taking him. Thats all we have to look at.

I mean, we should take anyone as long as they don't do the bad things they did in college. You are asking him to change his ENTIRE game, not just his throwing motion, which also needs work.

Related to 'reckoning' it means roughly 'without judgement or forethought' or 'without consideration of consequences' (my definitions, not Websters).

If you don't reckon that you need to look up a spelling when you don't know it then you are spelling recklessly.

Yeah, I was going to ask what leads someone to think he can adapt, because frankly he hasn't shown anything to lead you to that conclusion.... But I've just kind of given up on this topic and arguing with the Manziel-ers.

It's like debating with the Tebowphiles. You're either a fan or you're not.

    Please, people.

Stop comparing Manziel to Russell Wilson.

"Being short" is all they have in common.

Wilson can play from the pocket - Manziel can't.

    Wilson is smart. Manziel isn't.

Most of all- Wilson doesn't DEPEND on the play to be broken in order to do something good.

Manziel sucks at playing anything but backyard QB. Which is why he purposely creates busted plays so he can throw one of his famous wobbly ducks up for Evans to pick out of the air and make him look good.

Manziel completed 69% of his passes all from busted plays?

DW doesn't like him, that is a ringing endorsement to draft him.

How come nobody compares Manziel to Vick a Qb with almost identical measurements? Manziel is a fast super elusive runner but he gets compared to qbs who are not even runners.

I watched Manziel destroy Oklahoma in the cotton bowl and while he does run too much and will need to stop doing that circle back thing in the nfl it is stupid to sum up his game as if it is just some gimmick or ad lib plays. This guy has a quick release and a strong accurate arm. Nothing like Tebow at all.

I put no because the only guy they would draft is Bridgewater and he won't fall to 11. Bortles and Manziel are far more risky, so why take a flyer on one of them when we have Locker for another year anyway? Might as well let him play this upcoming season out and take it from there.

Lol I didn't say as long as he doesn't do what he did in college he should be taken. FOs need to be able to evaluate him and recognize whether or not this is the case. I am assuming Manziel is well aware he can't run around with that reckless abandon. Whoever decides to take him believes he can translate his game.

I said he can't play like he did in college (constantly scrambling all over trying to make plays) and have success in the NFL. I'm sure he will play this way for a while and quickly learn it isn't going to work.

Every time there's an undersized guy coming into the NFL the experts always question his size and whether or not he can hold up. They're always wrong. When Cam Newton scrambled all over and made inaccurate throws on his way to winning the Heisman and national championship, everyone (myself included) said he'd be VY 2.0. They said he was an immature child who didn't have what it takes to be an NFL QB.

I'm not trading anything for Manziel, and I'm not going to be pissed if and when he's gone when we pick. But if he's there at #11 I just don't know how you can pass on that potential.

We need some excitement... Manziel would put asses in the seats. This is something we've struggled with recently. He'd bring us hype for the first time in a long time. No one knows the Titans exist. I'm not saying this is the only reason to take the guy, but everyone knows we need a QB. Our problem as an organization is that we've been far too safe and conservative as a whole. I know the VY failure probably scares us away, but you've gotta be able to take risks in the NFL.

A lot of great current players were huge risks in the draft.

I hope I'm wrong and Johnny sucks... because I bet he goes to either Houston or Jacksonville.

Supporting Manziel goes against everything I've ever stood for, but I've gotta side with potential sometimes.

FWIW Mayock has him as the #2 QB in the draft. And Mayock is usually pretty good. I know he dogged Zach Brown, but so did I - and I was pissed we didn't take Levonte David instead.
