cut fitz and keep locker one more year but don't count on him staying healthy for the most part. I have said this before and I will say this again, I do not think he has the body to play in the nfl meaning that his body can't take the hits that other players take. That being said we need to draft a pocket passer if we can get one. The depth at qb this draft is deep and we should think about all of our options. Locker is not good from within the pocket either which is another drawback to me aside from the injuries. If we have to go to our 3rd string qb at any time we are screwed either way so why bother at that point.

Imo a pocket passer is only a good move if that's what wiz wants. Exactly half of the qbs who were in the playoffs this year had mobile guys and half of the teams in the championship game were mobile guys. The nfl is changing and when you look at the ages of these guys, you see that all of the young guys in the playoffs besides foles and dalton are mobile guys. I'm not so sure a pocket passer is the way to go anymore.

I would take a pocket passer over a mobile qb any day of the week although I would like some mobility from within the pocket. Brees, Rivers, Brady, Manning, Dalton, Foles. I think a lot of pocket passers made the playoffs imo. Not sure on it but it looks like it to me.

That's why I said half, Smith, luck, kap, rogers, newton and sb champ wilson. It also looks like a lot of mobile guys made the playoffs. Also note the age of the qbs, like I said the only young guys that are pocket guys are foles and dalton. It's just the way the nfl is going, can't be stuck in the past, gotta move with the league.

It's a HUGE stretch to put Rodgers, Luck, and Smith in the mobile category. They can all move, but do 90% of their damage from the pocket. Calling Smith and Rodgers mobile is like calling Fitz mobile. He runs just as much as they do.

They all have the ability to take off, they can run very well. Fitz ain't that bad either, but you have to think the opposing d has to consider the run always because they can move. Yes most of their damage does come from the pocket but that's because they are smart. I'm just stating that being able to run is not a bad thing at all and it's what most young successful qbs are. If johnny manziel was taught like these guys were to stick in the pocket and only move if needed he would be 100 times more deadly then bortel, just because of the fear. You can watch these guys and see that all three of the guys you said were a stretch to call mabile have all had long (20+ yrds) runs on multiple occasions.

Of course he does but he's 32 and been in a system with a top RB and WR. Maybe the Vikings or Raiders give him a shot but I don't think he's any kind of solution in Tennessee.

That might be ok if we had a 3rd rounder.
