But the Broncos have a championship caliber team still, even after being embarrassed in front of millions.

At 7-9 we're still finding our way.

I'd prefer we knew what we could do.

Broncos are at the top of their game. It's only downhill for them. Manning had his best season ever.. which will likely never be repeated by his nearly 40 yr old self. Without manning.. this is not a Super Bowl team. Who is their backup plan if Manning retires, or falls off next season?

Perfect storm for the Broncos.. and they blew it in the worst way possible.. My friend who is a lifelong Broncos fan said that he would have rather not made the playoffs this year, than be exposed to that. And I agree.

It's stupid to not want to be humiliated in the SB if given the choice between that, and not making the playoffs.

But there is no choice.. So it's all rhetorical.

Being humiliated in the Super Bowl is probably the worst way to end a season.

I would rather barely remember a mediocre season.. than have the high hopes of a Super Bowl, and get beaten down.. Raiders vs. Buccaneers, or Broncs vs. Hawks style.

Ask the Raiders how they've fared since then.

Id take losing another Super Bowl over not even being a playoff team any day

That was Bill Callahan's fault. Dumbest gameplan in the history of the Super Bowl.

yeah. the 90s Bills felt pretty real good about themselves.

A super bowl loss is not a boost for a franchise. It is nothing to hang your hat on. Especially not an ugly loss.

If the Seahawks had lost.. that's one thing. But the Broncos are going nowhere but down. Manning's time is about up, and their backup plan = 2nd-4th in the AFC West.

    yeah.

To me, sometimes in life, "meh" is better than absolute heartbreak. That's what I gather.

I wasn't upset with the close loss vs. the Ravens in '08. Wasn't upset with the 1999 super bowl loss.

No shame in losing competitively. Much shame in losing in blowout fashion.
