The Titans can now check off "hire a coach" on their to-do list, which means we can all turn our focus to the draft in May. But what should we expect with Whisenhunt here....

As head coach of the Cardinals from 2007-2012 Ken Whisenhunt has plenty of drafts for us to look to for an idea of where he may be taking the Titans.

    2007
1 5 Levi Brown OT Penn State
2 33 Alan Branch DT Michigan
3 69 Buster Davis LB Florida State
5 142 Steve Breaston WR Michigan
7 215 Ben Patrick TE Delaware

    2008
    1 16 Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB Tennessee State
2 50 Calais Campbell DE Miami (Fla.)
3 81 Early Doucet WR Louisiana State
4 116 Kenny Iwebema DE Iowa
5 149 Tim Hightower RB Richmond
    6 185 Chris Harrington LB Texas A&M
    7 225 Brandon Keith T Northern Iowa

    2009
1 31 Beanie Wells RB Ohio State
2 63 Cody Brown DE Connecticut
3 95 Rashad Johnson DB Alabama
4 131 Greg Toler DB St. Paul's (VA)
    5 167 Herman Johnson G Louisiana State
6 204 Will Davis LB Illinois
    7 240 LaRod Stephens-Howling RB Pittsburgh
    7 254 Trevor Canfield G Cincinnati

    2010
1 26 Dan Williams DT Tennessee
2 47 Daryl Washington ILB Texas Christian
3 88 Andre Roberts WR The Citadel
    4 130 O'Brien Schofield LB Wisconsin
5 155 John Skelton QB Fordham
6 201 Jorrick Calvin DB Troy
7 233 Jim Dray TE Stanford

    2011
1 5 Patrick Peterson DB LSU
2 38 Ryan Williams RB Virginia Tech
3 69 Rob Housler TE Florida Atlantic
4 103 Sam Acho LB Texas
5 136 Anthony Sherman RB Connecticut
6 171 Quan Sturdivant LB North Carolina
6 184 David Carter DT UCLA
7 249 DeMarco Sampson WR San Diego State

    2012
1 13 Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame
3 80 Jamell Fleming CB Oklahoma
    4 112 Bobby Massie T Mississippi
    5 151 Senio Kelemete G Washington
6 177 Justin Bethel CB Presbyterian
6 185 Ryan Lindley QB San Diego State

IDK what can be taken from this, but here it is to look at.

I bet he wishes he could forget about that 2009 draft. Yikes, that looks awful.

Other than that, Whisenhunt and company have had some solid drafts.

2008 (DRC, Campbell & Hightower) & 2011 (Peterson & Housler) were decent. Anyway, I trust Ruston will have a larger say in the draft than Whiz.

Ruston doesn't seem like a guy about to hand over his drafting rights, as he shouldn't -- he's a good talent evaluator.

Rod Graves was the GM and had final say in the draft and personel moves. How much Whisenhunt lobbied for guys that he did or didn't get we won't know. Point is, he and Ruston will go over the roster (with the coordinators) and decide on which positions need to be upgraded and it'll be up to Ruston to figure out how to get us those pieces (via draft, trade, or free agency).
