Ok, I know there is already a big 'Coach Thread' but I wanted to start a poll of all the coaches the Titans have scheduled for interview. Since Munch got let go few days ago, many coaches have been reported to be interviewing with the Titans. I have my favorites but I want to know as a whole, who would we vote for. Feel free to vote for more than one coach who you like. I did my best to listed all coaches that Titans reported they were interested in interviewing. Its possible new candidates could surface in future, but as for the names we know about now, please vote who you would like/love to see as the Titans new Head Coach. (Sorry I reposted this since I left off a few names that should have been listed). Anyone not listed has not been a top name in the media.

As far as my 2 cents, I am excited to see a large list of coaches. Because the Titans waited so long to fire Fisher, we missed out on the best options at the time, and had to settle on the in house favorite in Munch. This time almost all the best options out there are open. I believe most of the guys listed would be good options based on their experience in the league. From what I have read, Quinn seems to be a good option. I am not sure I am a fan of Jim Caldwell only because no one really knows how good he can be as a Head Coach when he has to start with team not already having Peyton Manning. In fact, the one and only year Peyton wasn't there, guy lost his job. So I hope we don't end up with him. I also don't know if Ken Whisenhunt is the best fit for HC. He has shown to be a great OC many times, and shown to be a great influence on QBs over the years, which is something the Titans could use, but it hard to see him doing much better than he did with the Cardinals. Once he lost Kurt Warner, guy didn't have a winning season. And for some reason couldn't get another solid QB. I believe if Titans already had a great QB in place, like the Lions, Ken might be a good fit, but as we sit now. I just don't know. My personal favorites are Dan Quinn and Jay Gruden. They both have experience in NFL, both respected, and both successful over many years. Unlike James Franklin that doesn't come with the same NFL coaching experience, I don't believe the Titans have enough existing talent to immediately be successful under a fresh college coach.

I think Jim Caldwell may have gotten dealt somewhat of a bad hand after Manning went down. I mean, I don't think the Colts FO even wanted to win games. They go out and sign KFC, then end up playing Curtis Painter all year long ... How can they have success under that. I bet Caldwell didn't think he would get fired for that.

That being said ... I still would not be happy if we hire him. He did seem like an idiot.

I don't really blame Whisenhunt either. He took over a joke of a franchise and took them to the SB with a "washed up" QB. Lets not pretend like Warner was still an elite QB at that time. It wasn't until he played for Whisenhunt that his career was resurected.

Once Warner left, Whisenhunt never really was dealt a good hand either. Traded for Kolb (not sure if that was him or the GM or both), and then stuck with a couple of 3rd string QBs fighting for the starting job. He probably learned a lot from that exp too, and probably knows what he would do differently this time.

    Jim Caldwell is awful.

    Whisenhunt could do it.

    Bevell pass

    Quinn pass

Zimmer is alright but there has to be a reason at 57 he has never gotten a HC offer before.

    Malzahn ain't happening.

    Jimmy Frank ain't happening.

I'm going with Whisenhunt. He's from the Pittsburgh fam, got the AZ f***ing Cardinals to the super bowl, and has proved himself again in SD. I want an offensive minded guy as HC and I think he fits the bill.

    Other?

    1) Hue Jackson
    1b) Dave Toub

I'd be quite happy with either.

I'd have a hard time with a Gruden bro hire.

I see your points about Whisenhunt. The Kolb deal is what killed him. They had a decent draft pick that year they used on Patrick Peterson (who is a stud) but they already had Rodgers-Cromartie who they gave up for Kolb trade, plus lost their 2012 2nd Round pick. Maybe if the Cards take Kapernick in 2011 or Wilson in 2012, Ken keeps his job. Since they had Kolb in place both those seasons, they never looked at QB.
