He did come back from the hip injury much earlier than expected. Can't do anything about a broken foot.

Let's remember the beating Jake took in the last 6 games in 2012 when we had no offensive line at all. Stewart was out with the broken leg and we had guys starting at guard and center who couldn't make the practice squad.

2012 he put himself in harms way on a meaningless play in week 1 by trying to make the tackle and be the hero! How well did that work out for him?

Did you watch McNair early in his career? He was far from a model for accuracy. He got better over time. I believe he was getting much better from the pocket before he got hurt. I see occasionally that his head /eyes drop still, but not like a year ago. I will give you that he seems to get to his check down a little quickly for my liking, but he wasnt turning the ball over. Protected the ball especially early in the season. We were winning in large part due to that. Far as audibles go, who knows what freedom he had or didnt have. While I believe it would be ludicrous to not allow your QB to audible, it is possible given our staff and philosophy. Had the right people given up on McNair back in the day because he was inaccurate at times, there would have never been a McNair. I too am tired the injuries, but the talent is there. Some little issues to still work out? Sure. But IMO Jakes on field game has improved to a point where I would hate to see us start all over.

Be a hero? Thats what hes supposed to do. lol Hopefully not on a regular basis. Just cause your a QB doesnt mean you dont keep a man out of the end zone if you can

I agree with this comparison, and still remember all of the hoopla about Neil O'Donnell during the Super Bowl year. Yes, there were plenty of folks who wanted O'Donnell starting back then, and McNair's late game performance in the Super Bowl pretty well squelched this.

Locker has had three seasons now, and is entering season number 4. He has shown flashes, and I love his attitude and work ethic. However, for me this upcoming season is his last chance. He needs to show that he has the game sense to stay healthy (that shoulder separation in 2012, while the result of a hustling play, was just plain dumb for a starting QB to incur IMO), and he needs to show more consistency.

One other observation is this....IMO Webster's future is going to ride with Locker's performance at this point. He has most definitely hitched his wagon to Locker, and will either succeed or fail (from an organizational standpoint) as Locker succeeds or fails on the field.

I totally disagree and honestly the fact that he is leading the search for the teams next head coach proves that Webster is in good standing with the organization. If Webster was on the hotseat I find it extremely unlikely that Smith would give him free reign over the man running the franchise for the next 3-4 years.

In reality I think Websters future with the Titans comes down to his HC (remember he inherited Munchek/Locker from Reinfeildt and Adams) performing. If the guy he hire doesn't get us to the postseason then I can't imagine Webster lasting anymore then 3 years.

I am so sick of the P word! I'm talking about the word "potential" not the word "pathetic".

I agree that Webster is currently in very good standing (and he should be) at this point. However, he has tied himself to Locker pretty tight IMO, regardless of whether or not he was involved in drafting Locker. If Locker does not pan out, Webster will have spent some credibility capital with TS I think.

That said, as I mentioned before I am not ready to give up on Locker, for one more season anyway.
