Adam Sandler. In his "youth" his movies were stupid-funny. As he got more "mature" his movies just got stupid.

He's so subdued, as an adult, he's pretty boring. What made him popular with his fans earlier he doesn't do anymore - the crazy, off-the-wall stuff.

Sad thing is Adam Sandler is a great actor.

Still think Funny People is fantastic. Not as a comedy but as a movie.

Yeah I loved Funny People. I think some of the backlash is just because people were expecting it to be some slapstick, raunch-fest or something. Apatow was coming off of 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up at that time so Funny People was a bit out of left field.

At one point in time Sandler tried to be funny.

Now I legit think he is a con artist and fraud. He gets away with it because people are so dumb they go pay hard earned money to see his movies.

Saw a bunch of movies within the past week.

Anchorman 2 - 7/10 - It didn't ruin the first one. It had some really funny moments, but it also had a lot of over-the-top stupid stuff (even more than the first) where it just fell flat on its face. Much better than I expected though.

Dallas Buyers Club - 8.5/10 - Jared Leto lololololololololol... I hope he got paid well for that. Very solid movie though. Probably the best performance I've seen from McConaughey. He lost so much damn weight... not as much as Bale in The Machinist, but he was pretty sickly.

American Hustle - 9.5/10 - Loved it. Probably my new favorite of the year. A lot of Scorsese influence throughout.

Gotta see Wolf of Wall Street now, and then I'll be pretty much caught up with all the worthwhile stuff.

Anchorman 2- I wasn't crazy about it. It was funny enough I suppose. But it seemed like 75% of the laughs were just from stupid stuff Brick said. And, well, that stuff starts to get old after awhile. All in all it was nowhere near as good as the first one and felt completely forced and unnecessary.

The Hobbit Part Deux- I enjoyed it much more than the first. However, like the first it was at least 20 minutes too long. Didn't love it. Didn't hate it. It's weird. I LOVED and was borderline obsessed with the LotR movies. But I'm pretty apathetic about these Hobbit movies. They just don't do much for me and two movies into the trilogy I'm really getting the feeling that this story should have been condensed into 2 rather than 3 parts. And where the LotR movies were engaging throughout and the 3+ hour runtimes seemed to fly by, these Hobbit movies really feel tedious and a bit like a chore. I was looking at my watch a lot during this one.

The dwarven king looked really dumb. The way dwarves look in general have definitely regressed over the last 2 movies.

I think a big part of the reason I'm not as into these movies as LotR is that I really don't care about the dwarves... like, at all. I do kinda like the really old one with the gigantic nose. But aside from him I don't really care if they live or die. I was actually kinda hoping Smaug would just eat them all and Peter Jackson would pop up on the screen and be like "LOL JK ABOUT THAT 3RD MOVIE!"
