That does not really mean anything. Strength of schedule is based on the previous year. Well last year Houston, Washington and Atlanta were all first place teams. While Philadelphia and KC were last place. Furthermore those strength of schedule games only account for 2 games on the schedlue.

As for the AFC North and NFC East, outside the Redskins and Browns. Let's not get too carried away:
    • Steelers: Oldest defense in the league. OL still sucks and they are looking to possibley dump Roethlesberger.
    • Ravens: I know you want to believe they are amazing but they are another team on the decline.
    • Bengals: Yeah they are better
    • Eagles: An adoration that will fall back to earth once teams take advantage of their terrible ToP
    • Giants: Another old team on the decline. And a QB who throws more picks than Fitzy
    • Cowboys: About to fall off the cliff. They are already about $25 million over the cap. They will have to cut hard and deep just to get under it.
We were a lot worse off this year with the AFC and NFC West.

It is amazing how well the "eyeball" test works in a player or HC's first year. I think many folks knew Munch and Locker weren't going to be spectacular.

It is going to take an unequivocal public display of commitment to a "culture overhaul" from the organization to get me to continue my season ticket purchases. I'm ready to eat the cost of the PSL if I have to in order to avoid paying for the tickets.

And by culture overhaul, I mean, better accountability for winning and lack of production. That means bye-bye Munch, Matthews, Loggains, Gray etc. Hire THE BEST PERSON FOR THE JOB after an open competition. No bonus points for past Oiler?Titan history. Have clear goals in place. Reward/compensate the coaching staff for production and results. Invest in creating a franchise identity outside of the results on the field. Insist that even in a loss, EVERY player and coach must demonstrate every effort to play hard and win.

I'll admit I'm unfairly biased against Tommy Smith because he is obese. I don't think he has the discipline to be committed to a long term re-vamping of how this organization approaches things. His waistline suggests he approaches life for immediate gains. His appearance alone unsettles me. I hope I'm wrong but it is hard to ignore that his weight indicates he has low to moderate self-control. (And save the bullchit about hormones/metabolism etc regarding weight.)

If I'm Tommy Smith I ask myself 1 simple question... Do I believe that Munch is the coach that can win a Super Bowl?

If you think that he can then fine you can stick with him, but I really just have not seen anything from him that makes me think that he is the type of coach that could lead his team to the Super Bowl.

...did anyone notice how when we used Greene with his power and downhill style early on, it opened lanes for both CJ and Greene later on....

I mean, wasn't that the plan from the beginning?

Yes, I know that it was against the lowly Jags and their woeful rush defense, but still I think the concept definitely helped.

    --

In fact, I know Munch won against the Jags, but much of that can be attributed to the above point. After seeing it work pretty well, I'd be (as the CEO or whatever) at Munch and Co. for taking till game 15 to get there....

I hope he's gone but if he isn't, I'll still be cheering for them to win. Up until about week 13 when we're 5-7 and losing games in the second half because out coaching staff can't make adjustments at half time. Then I'll be right back where I was this year, and last. Pissed that we let games get away from us that we should have won, and winning stupid games at the end of the year.

Rinse, repeat. A change needs to be made!

I have the same problem with Tommy smith's obesity that Riverman has. It's a personal discipline thing that makes it hard for you not to think it effects other things in his life.

For the same reason and some others i would have never hired Andy Reid to be my football coach and he has proven he is indeed a fine coach. I hope i'm also wrong about Tommy Smith.
