The stats are something, but his release and mechanics are perfect. It all depends on what he has up top, he's got the size/arm.. but can he understand an NFL defense?

    Right now I'm on this:
    1st: Defensive Playmaker
    2nd: QB
    4th: OT
    5th: RB
w/ potential of trading back in the 1st (depends if we win/lose our final games) in order to pickup a 3rd. To which we'd then go OT/RB in the 3rd/4th.

My only hangup on taking a defensive guy in the 1st is our offense can't sustain drives, they need the help more.

Our defense can play with most anybody as they stand right now. Re-sign Pollard and Verner so that we aren't creating bigger challenges for ourselves, and take an OT that can set the edge for us.

I agree. But a legit pass-rusher would really put this defense over the top. If we lose these next two games (which is clearly possible) we may very well be right within striking distance of Clowney.

Our run defense is still crap. I'd love to pickup Louis Nix III or CJ Mosley. Or, a potential elite pass rusher like Barr, Clowney, or Ealy.

Our offense will sustain drives if we get a new offensive coordinator. Plus, we will hopefully be replacing CJs "TD or -2 yards" running style with a guy who's makes one-cut and pickups 4 yards consistently.

If we lose these next two games, finish 5-11.. that would put us at 7th last year. This year it could potentially be 10th. Starting rooting for Buffalo, Giants, Vikings, Oakland, Jacksonvilel, Atlanta, Cleveland, and Tampa Bay to win games.

If we do get #7, Clowney is in play. There would be Bridgewater, Manziel, Bortles, and Carr all going before us at #7. Then Jake Matthews & Anthony Barr. Suddenly he's available, Atlanta would be the team to take him before us.

I would love to see Barr on our team, he is a pure play maker. He will most likley be gone when we are picking, even if we go 0-2.... which we very well could. Clowney has great talent.... so did some of our other first rounders. We have a bad habit of drafting first round bust. lets just play this one safe.

He tends to stick with ONE release point tho. And that creates the problem.

The short QBs learn how to release from different platforms. Boyd is actually really really good at this. Murray sticks to his overhand consistently and it's worth noting, I'm not sure how high that is. With Russell Wilson, he has one of those absurdly high releases.

I doubt 5-11 would put us at 10, but I guess it's possible. I have to think at least one or two of those teams currently behind us would move in front of us in that scenario though.

    Regardless, just lose baby.

It could potentially, but yes I also doubt it would happen. Just imagine this draft:

1st: Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina
    2nd: QB of your choice
    4th: Best OT/RB available
    5th: Best OT/RB available

Package that with a new coaching staff. Verner, Pollard, and Pito resigned. FA MLB signed.
