I think the plan is to save a mid round pick this year and have Wilson replace Rusty.

I'd like to see this guy play in the last two games. He was a hell of a QB back at Arkansas, maybe being pulled form the Raiders graveyard is the push he needs to succeed, that is, if munchaks "Eh."ness doesn't infect him, too.

Most of my posts are serious, the Chris Palmer thing seems to cause such an uproar, I had to keep it going a little while.

Anyone think maybe the Titans are trying to add as many people as possible with the last name "Wilson"?

Tyler Wilson’s parents had plans to travel to California for the holidays.

    Not any more.

Wilson put on a Titans helmet on Wednesday in practice for the first time, a day after he was signed off the practice squad of the Oakland Raiders. He’s now the team’s No.3 quarterback, behind starter Ryan Fitzpatrick and back-up Rusty Smith.

“It’s one of those deals where it’s an overnight change,’’ Wilson said. “I wasn’t expecting it really.”

    The Titans like Wilson’s potential.

They waived quarterback John Skelton to make room for him on the 53-man roster.

Wilson, who starred at Arkansas, signed a multi-year deal with the Titans and will work in the team’s offseason program after the season. He was a fourth round pick by the Raiders. He spent part of this season as Oakland’s No.2 quarterback.

“I’m from this area, so it’s good to be back close to home. And I think there’s an opportunity to get better here,’’ Wilson said. “These last couple games I think are an opportunity to be around game-time situations and learn how the system works and be able to continue to learn and be ready for next year.”

Wilson lit it up in college. He owns the Razorbacks career passing yardage record (7,765) and earned first-team All-SEC honors. As a senior, he threw for 3,387 yards, 21 touchdowns and posted five 300-yard performances. During his junior year, he tallied 3,638 passing yards, including a 510-yard game against Texas A&M, and 24 touchdowns.

One thing he’s learned in the NFL:

“It doesn’t matter your draft status or what you’ve done previously,’’ he said. “When you get in you have to get in and really work and make an impression on people as soon as possible.”
