I love how buttmad Houston fans get over not owning the Oilers history. A lot of them actually think they do.

Thank Bud for that one :D His last F-You to the city of Houston. When the Browns moved to Baltimore the NFL let the new expansion team in Cleveland keep the Browns history. Bob McNair wanted the same with the Oilers in Houston. Bud put a stop to it :D Gotta love Bud!

I saw Haywood Jeffires yesterday on TV, and they were asking him about the Oilers old stadium about to be ripped down. He said its very emotional because now Oiler players from back then have nowhere to connect to. Not like he can call the Texans his team, and once we became the Titans he said it was like the Oilers never happened.

Felt bad for the guy, and those players from his time. Its true, its almost as if they never were.

just like the Dallas Texans, New York Titans, Baltimore Colts, St. Louis Cardinals, LA Rams, etc.

Franchises come and go, change names all the time. Change is the only constant in life.

look up some Baltimore colts players. See what they think about the Indianapolis Colts. Their history is just as dead as the Oilers. The franchise just changed names. When you leave a city and a stadium behind, the franchise is never the same, regardless of name change.

There's nothing in a name. If we were the Tennesee oilers, we would mean as much to Houston Oilers players as The Colts mean to Baltimore Colts players.. nothing.

Cardinals and Rams don't really matter much, because they do not really have a strong history. Just like nobody will care about Jags players once they get out of Jacksonville.

Do u think that former Browns players rooted for or felt connected to the Baltimore Browns their 1 or 2 seasons there? Nope, because they betrayed their city.

The Franchise essentially equals the city. Once you move cities (not talking NY to NJ) you alienate and essentially kill the fanbase and most good will towards your former players.

If anyone thinks that Bud Adams wasn't a bad owner.... just watch that program on the 93 Oilers from last night.

Total BS. Moon is respected in Houston and his children live there.

And it's not that Moon wasn't a good playoff performer. He put up 4 TDs / 2 INTs @ Buffalo when the defense blew the huge lead. 1989 and 1991 playoffs he played well. And he didn't play bad against KC in 93 (though not great either, and outplayed by Montana).
