Just to be clear, I'm not doubting there will be interest. I'm just saying the $ offered will most likely be very humbling for "The Playmaker". No one is going to be willing to pay him anything even remotely resembling the contract he got from us. IMO anyway.

I'm no CJ fan by any stretch of the imagination. But I honestly think the team wouldn't be opposed to keeping him around if the numbers were right. Sure he's not an every-down feature back. But as a "role player" he certainly still has plenty of value. If we had a HC and OC with a single creative bone between the two of them then I think CJ could still be dangerous in a limited role. Again, IMO anyway.

All the talk is about Jay and possibly paying him the big bucks at age 30. Why don't we go after someone a little younger, say Kurt Cousins. He has played and played well when he has had an opportunity. Not to mention he will be much cheaper.

I honestly think if we keep him around, to mix it up a little, use him primarily for the pass game, screens, and curls wouldn't hurt. Even putting him out wide could even work, given his speed, if he was out wide, he could burn some DBs, and outside runs, tosses, and such.

And use Shonne Greene for good hard nosed running, He's not great, but he's serviceable. Mixing up passes and runs when CJ is in, would be a good way to confuse defenses, he'd be a double threat then, and they wouldn't be stacking 8 in the box so often, and could open more offensive opportunities.

Manzeil strikes me as Locker with a weaker arm and bad intangibles. I'll pass.

Bingo. the Wake up zone and even MD 180 are too concerned with keeping their "access" to he critical... like it even makes a difference what they say in interviews and press conferences. It is all boilerplate coachspeak garbage anyway.

Kuharsky and Travis, while they can be overly obnoxious at times, are the only ones that never b.s. you. Brent Daugherty is pretty good at telling the truth in an affiable way and not pissing anyone off too.

Dude, just stop. He's not a playmaker. He hasn't been one in years. He has sucked here for some time, and its time for him to go.

fact of the matter is you can try to sugarcoat what you want but at the end of the day the results will still show up. Someone is going to end up pissed off no matter what you try to do to cover it up.

If CJ wasnt such a lazy route runner, he would still have plenty of use, out wide, in the slot, out of the backfield, just as you were saying. It would be like Marshall Faulk dialed up to 11. Faulk could run any route on the tree and it made him that much more dynamic. Just imagine Faulk running 4.2.

So what you're saying is we need to be using that analogy of: if you put lipstick on a pig, it's still just a pig?
