Fokou fined for hit against Colts

I understand that MLB's make adjustments before the snap, but to imply that guys are not lining up properly and its McCarthy's fault is ridiculous.

now explain why it falls on the MLB to make sure the guys are LINING up properly. A MLB doesn't line someone up, they make adjustments but lining up is a basic concept. If we are counting on out MLB to do that we have bigger problems then we have been led to believe.

 

If the MLB recognizes that the play is going to be a sweep to the left, they LINE UP several yards, in better position, to counter that play.

Theres a reason why defenses move and not stay in the same place all the time. Part of that "adjustment" is where they "line up"

Now if you are talking about a playbook, where the 3 LBs line up between the secondary, and the line, then yes... thats kind of common sense. No player, even high school kids, do that wrong.

However in a 4-3 defense, the MLB (although it can be the OLB or even S's), make adjustments, and line players up in different spots. Ever seen a dline jump a gap to the left, or right, and change where they line up? Thats the call from the Mike LB, while in this case and in most cases, is the MLB.

 

you are still talking about adjustments, that part I agree with. I understand the difference between adjustments and lining up.

I don't know, maybe I am getting hung up on wordage here.

 

Show me proof. I have yet to see that once. Hell Fokou f****d up last week getting people lined up on that final drive.
