I had to look at some stats.

First thing I noticed is that we are making about 8 less tackles a game as a team. That is good. We are better at getting off the field on defense and better at staying on the field on offense.

Second thing that I noticed is that Fokou and McCarthy have combined for 87 tackles. That is probably around the number we got at MLB all season last year. I think that is a good thing, too.

While I do think that Ayers and Brown need to make more impact plays, I'm not too worried about their total tackle numbers.

Haven't really looked at their numbers until now

    Ayers: 35 tckl, 1 sack, 0 ff, 0 int
    Brown: 56 tckl, 3 sack, 1 ff, 0 int

Ayers numbers are insanely disappointing. He's at least 15 tackles short of where he should be, and about 4 sacks IMO. I thought he would be a double digit sack guy.

Brown is more or less where I thought he'd be; slightly disappointing but not like Ayers. Brown should get some picks but he doesn't seem to play much on obvious passing situations which surprises me because I'd guess his athleticism would help in coverage.

    Need more plays from both.

They will play better next week, and the rest of the season.

Could it be the zone type stuff they have been running more of ?

Seems the beginning of the year our defense was attacking more

now they seem not to be attacking as much ...

    Fokou

People think Im nuts but they thought I was nuts when I said Griffin would look a lot better this year too and magically "learn how to play again". Not that i care if im right, I just sure as hell HOPE im right.

Brown's numbers are inflated by him starting the season pretty well. He's fallen off the face of the earth since then. Very disappointing.

I can't figure out why Brown is off the field so much on 3rd downs. Especailly 3rd and long scenarios. I would rather have Brown on the field than Ayers in those cases. Brown can blitz just as effectively as Ayers and is much better in coverage.
