As much as I love Ebron were not gonna draft him in the first b/c our team thinks Walker is the second coming of Shannon Sharpe.

Once again we are not playing Stevens and Thompson as much because we are consistently stuck in second and long/ third and long situations and they are losing snaps to the three receiver sets we have to run in those situations. The reason the majority of our passing plays go to Wright, Washington, and Walker is because at any given time they are our 3 best targets on the field and they are the guys you design the passing game around.

The only way you will see Stevens/THompson get more snaps is for our running game to improve (which I think will happen with Schwenkie replacing Turner and Greene coming back after the bye week) but even then Washington, Wright, Walker, Williams, and Johnson will get a lot more targets as they are all more dynamic players.

Also, if we take any TE in the first round it will be one of the dumbest possible moves we could make. If Stevens is gone next year all we need is a low round pick/ vet minimum FA to come in and play as our 3rd string TE.

So if Antonio Gates (in his prime), Rob Gronk, and Jimmy Graham were available in the 1st round, knowing what we know now, you still would not draft them? Smart.

Considering the team needs... I'm not sure it's the best idea. Using future HOF players and saying "what if" doesn't really qualify the argument.

Actually it does. He said "Also, if we take any TE in the first round it will be one of the dumbest possible moves we could make."

.... The draft is also risk based decisions. Every player chosen has a weighted response on the future. Using what if is not reasonable because there is no sure HOF TE in the draft. There's guys with upside and talent. Size and the outlook can be good. It doesn't however guarantee the guy is Gronk/etc.

When you consider who we are going to need to replace.. It doesn't make any sense to take a TE. We need to continue to fortify the O Line. Fix the Tackle future. That doesn't mean that's the only option. Walker has played well and is in our future plans. No sense in spending a first on another guy. DE/DT/CB can all make a much larger impact if the right player is there.

Taking any guard in the first round is stupid too, didn't stop us in 2013.

Eric Ebron can flat out play. With that said, tight end would definitely be a luxury pick.

We need bookends on both lines in next years draft. Roos and Stewart are declining and we don't have a double digit sack DE on the roster. That being said, our TE's are underutilized. So our the WR's for that matter!

I disagree with TE being a luxury pick. I think a true pass catching TE would do wonders for Locker

I agree, but Walker is better at TE than Morgan or Johnson are at DL or Stewart at RT.

I think we've invested enough in the skill positions over the last handful of years to give Locker more than enough of a chance to succeed. It's time to build the line of scrimmage(but we still shouldn't have taken a guard).
