Meh. He's gearing up for his 12th game as OC of this team. He shouldn't be "feeling his way" through $*&% at this point.

IDK man, it's week freaking 7. How long do you think he's planning on keeping this so-called "good stuff" in his back pocket?

Maybe he's saving it all for the playoffs which we may not even get to.

It seemed like we ran our best designed run play in that preseason opener against Washington. That's a Fisher move, like running that great fake punt in the Hall of Fame game as opposed to a game that actually mattered.

12 tries at something should be enough, but maybe not. Im thinking he needs a full season to use HIS stuff, not that Im giving him all of this year to figure it out, but he was dealing with a terrible situation last year.

Youd be hard pressed to find anyone that could repair what Chris Palmer did.

I really don't get all the votes for poor play-calling and blocking over some of the other issues.

It's rare for a RB to get carries where he doesn't get touched in the first couple of yards. CJ has to have that happen in order to be effective. He goes down with an arm tackle. He runs without power. He doesn't get anything after contact. He doesn't make people miss.

I also think he's lost vision and wants to cut everything back instead of taking the handoff at full speed and running towards where the play is designed to go. He's not running downhill when he takes the handoff and the OL isn't holding blocks long enough.

Unless Loggains can find a way to get him the ball in space with short passes hitting him in stride or the OL can create a massive hole, he's not even a top 20 RB in this league.

A 80% Greene will further expose CJ on Sunday, IMO, with the same OL and plays called.

C.J. himself blames it all on the O-Line, so if the big boys get a push, CJ will do well.

I voted for every single choice aside from:
    - Open-field Speed Decline- I do think there has been a decline but I don't think that has anything to do with his slow start. He's rarely in the open field to begin with, so....
    - Looking to Hit Home Run- If anything I think he's let "don't always look for the home run" get into his head this season.
    - Poor Coaching (from Croom)- Only because CJ has been a disappointment long before Croom showed up.
    - Other- I'm sure I could've thought of another reason I just didn't feel like it.

I selected all of them, because the only thing he is good at is picking up excuses.

Per Evan Silva on Twitter: "Have heard it pushed that CJ2ypcK's struggles are due to poor line play. PFF has Titans as the NFL's 13th best run blocking unit."

From their review of the OL last week:

When the Titans put the emphasis on improving the interior of their offensive line in the offseason, I’m sure they never expected to see days like this. At center, Robert Turner struggled again, giving up two quarterback hits and a hurry to go along with the holding penalty he was called on against Brandon Mebane. He wasn’t nearly as bad against the run, but then there wasn’t much to get excited about there either. Both new additions at guard, free agent Andy Levitre (-4.2) and rookie Chance Warmack (-0.7) struggled against the run, with Warmack allowing a tackle for loss to Red Bryant on 1st-and-10 with 9:59 to go in the opening quarter. Levitre added to his woes with two false start penalties in the second quarter alone, while both of his pressures allowed came on consecutive plays at the start of the Titans’ final drive.

Football Outsiders has the OL ranked #28 vs. the run and #13 vs. the pass. This excludes QB runs which really takes it down.

I agree with TJ...CJ has no mass behind his runs. Someone sticks an arm out and can bring him down with ease. I have yet to see a run where he looked like he was going to punish someone in his way. I remember the run a few years ago where he ran through the LB and kept going.

Dude is soft. It's what will keep him from being a great as he could've because he is content. He does not run with that hungry anger that you see from Lynch, AP, (inset just about any other RB here).

It's home run or freak play or bust.
