It didn’t take running back Chris Johnson long to get on the same page with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

    It took no time actually.

“I am good,’’ Johnson said on Thursday with a smile. “All he has to do is hand me the ball.”

Johnson, in his sixth NFL season, is in good spirits these days. He said he’s not upset because he hasn’t scored a touchdown this season, and he’s not making a fuss about being pulled in goal-line situations.

The Titans have taken Johnson out in favor of No.2 back Jackie Battle in recent weeks.

“It’s a situation where I know I am not going to have a two- or three-yard touchdown. I have to score my touchdowns from far out because when (we) get close to the end zone they take me out of the game,’’ Johnson said. “Of course I want to be in there, I want to be the guy to get us a touchdown.

“But when you are winning you can’t go in there and complain.”

Johnson does want to make one thing clear, though: He’s not asking to come out when the Titans get to the goal line.

Some fans on Twitter have suggested that to him of late, while complaining about his production in fantasy football. On the season, Johnson has 277 rushing yards.

“A lot of people actually think I want to come out in the goal-line, but I could care less about fantasy,’’ he said. “As long as we win, I am OK with it.”

Titans coach Mike Munchak on Thursday Battle gives the team a “bigger body” near the goal line and “he can push the pile when it’s not blocked that well. And a bigger back is going to have more success.”

Battle, who’s 6-2, 240, was stopped short of the end zone twice inside the four on Sunday vs. the Jets. He had gains of one and two yards on back-to-back carries. The 5-11, 203-pound Johnson has been pulled near the goal line in previous years as well in favor of backs like Lendale White and Javon Ringer.

“It’s kind of been our philosophy all along,’’ Munchak said.

I'd be pretty happy about getting paid 10 mil a year to fall forward six feet every carry too.

I'm not sure if I'm the minority or not - but I WANT to see him their in goal line packages - he ads a different dimension, opening up the outside runs, PA and if you can have Battle on the field at the same time the up the gut run is there as well.

I feel with him on the field he would cause nightmare matchup issues for the opposing D. Our O is quite predictable when we have goal to go (especially inside the 5 yard line)

    my 2 cents.

I think he should be in and have Battle at fullback, pretty much like you said.
