I get the sense that a lot of people think we have a great group of receivers (and have since pre-season). Now that Britt has faded and Hunter hasn't been overly involved (other than his 2 highlight catches), I'm curious to see where everyone stands.

Personally, I think we're currently average at best, with a relatively bright future if Wright and Hunter pan out. We have decent depth, but the lack of a true #1 receiver really hurts.

Nate is our #1 and hasn't let us down yet. We have playmakers. Hunter is remarkable in the red zone. Wright is always reliable. DWill makes pretty clutch catches. I'm happy with who we got.

    I'm happy with them...

...but after spending a few minutes looking at other receivers, I wouldn't rank them especially high as a unit.

    Well let's see....

Nate Washington- He's been clutch. But not the most talented guy around and definitely not a #1 on most teams.

Kenny Britt- What's to say? Dude sucks. I know he USED to be good and he USED to have all the potential in the world. But this is today. One big game in the past 2 years.

Kendall Wright- He's been solid. Not much to complain about. Not much to rave about either.

Damian Williams- He is what he is. Nothing special. But you could do a lot worse for a #4 receiver.

Justin Hunter- Had two amazing plays. But at the end of the day that's all it was.... two plays. Two catches. It's easy to get excited about him but if he's so good I'm wondering why he's not seeing the field more.

Michael Preston- Well, he's a #6 receiver. Enough said.

I know we love our guys. But I don't see how you can say that group is anything more than average or above-average at this point in time. We certainly have the potential to be a top 5 group though.

We don't currently have that "star" receiver, but all things considered I think we are above average with the potential to have a top 5 corp of receivers.

I would say we have average wide outs which isn't bad but I think they will improve as a group. I think this group was really starting to gain chemistry with locker and I feel that aspect of the game is so underrated in many ways. Chemistry can make good wide outs be great. Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison were great because Manning always got them the ball. It works both ways between Wide outs and QB as we all know and I think at the end of the day with Jake at QB we have a great group of wide outs minus Britt. They play with their heart, put in effort and that is all I can ask of someone on any football team. BRITT - GTFO

Yeah, if we had that legitimate #1 this would easily be one of the best groups in the league.

I think as a unit, we have one of the greater receiver group in the NFL. Most teams have that #1 receiver and not much after that. Only team that has a better receiver group in my opinion is the Falcons. They have 2 #1 guys and decent back ups. All of our guys could easily be #2's and #3's on other teams.

Sproles and Graham accounted for 200+ of Brees yards last night. Colston is only real threat at WR on their team.
