The effort to play is there and I will never question his dedication to the team but I want to see him show real leadership on offense. Can he lead this team down on a final drive? If I sensed the coaching staff was holding the offense back, I would say something. I kind of wish he would and maybe audible a lot to what the defense shows

Well, just consider yourself. At some point in your life, have you not done something that made you nervous at first, but later became no big deal? Nothing helps this problem but regular season experience. Jake has started what like 13 games in the NFL? There is simply no way he won't improve to some degree with respect to panic problems. Again, I am not predicting how good Jake will get, but he will be better at the end of this season than he is now.

I agree with that for the most part, I am just frustrated with this whole situation because I expected our offense to be better and now we have a very good defense that I don't want to waste. Also other qb's are progressive further along than him at more rapid rate as well. This year well tell us a lot and we will know by the end of the year.

I think he has it in him to play better.Last year during the Detroit game Locker completed 29 of 42 passes for 378 yards and two TD's that were 71 and 61 yard completions so Locker can connect on the long passes.

I would like to see the play calling open up a bit more for him. If the coaching staff doesn't believe in him to handle the ball more then why is he even on the team? Might as well tank with Fitzpatrick if you're afraid to let Locker throw the ball.

The play calling last week in Houston was horrible, I understand wanting to be a run first team and play smash mouth football but we have some decent weapons in the passing game and we're not even utilizing Locker the right way. We could at least keep the defense honest with some PA rollouts (something Locker does well, you know, running) and finding an open man/taking off with the ball.

Exactly. In today's NFL you just don't do that. Sure everyone always points to Rodgers and the Packers but they were in a totally different situation than most every other team who drafts a 1st round QB. They still had one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game on their roster. But a guy who was being talked about as a potential 1st overall pick leading up to the draft fell right in their laps at #24 (or whatever it was). He was the best guy on the board so they pretty much had to take him. But they also couldn't show Favre the door in favor of an unproven rookie. That was a totally unique situation and I think it's going to be a while before we ever see anything like that happen again.

Bottom line, teams that don't have a first ballot HoF QB on their roster typically can't afford to sit their 1st round "franchise QB" for 2 or 3 years. If you believe enough in a guy to draft him 8th overall, he shouldn't take "years" to develop into a competent starter. The mid/late rounds are for projects. Not the top 10.

What kind of stat line Sunday would give everyone hope?

I'd like to see a 90+ passer rating, 250+ passing yards, 2+ TDs.

More importantly, I'd like to see more poise in the pocket.

Yea Locker needs to crack 200-yards to get people off his back.

The pocket thing, I dont think he has an issue, there's been a lot of pressure coming up the middle, thats the lines job.
