It'll work so long as they enforce it.

Im all for interacting with the home crowd, I enjoy a little back and forth between fans. But there are times where things get a little heated, and if those same rowdy home fans knew theres a chance they could face consequences, they'll play nice.

    Awesome idea IMO.

If I'm hard on opposing fans, it's all in good fun, so there's no way I'm getting busted by an undercover cop.

And I've been lucky over the years to have had very few douche fans near my section, so it's not too much of a concern for me.

Again.... At what point do you cross the line though? Aside from the obvious physical confrontation or spitting on someone which is assault as it involves body fluids lol. Maybe it will deter someone form taking that first swing if they think it might be a cop but do you think the type of person that would just slug a person for no reason other than them wearing a jersey is thinking clearly anyways? Seems to me 99% of the time for a fight to break out there has to be some jawing from both sides. How long does the cop keep up the charade how far does he let it escalate before he blows his cover? He wont until that line is crossed.
Which would require him to antagonize the situation by trash talking back or whatever. And some cops would get off on that type of thing which brings me back to borderline entrapment. Whatever though. Hypothetical anyways.

If the cops abuse their power and harass the home fans to entrap and antagonize them, then it becomes a serious problem.

    Until then... good idea.

As unpopular as this post will be.... Banning alcohol at games would bring an end to most of the violence. Let them smoke reefer instead, after all it is legal now in washington. As someone once said. "Get four guys together drinking and they will start a fight, Get four guys together smoking and they will start a band". lol Sad but true.

The alcohol ban is a good idea but it will never happen because of all the profit and I can only imagine how much one stadium makes off shi**y bud light lol. tailgating is then another issue because some fans come in to the game completely bombed. A few years ago I watched a documentary on tailgating and alcohol... it was quite interesting to see how much people drink before the game. I prefer to not drink until the game starts, thats when the stress begins lol

Booz isnt going away, in fact its here to stay.

When fans got unruly in Cleveland and threw glass bottles at refs, did they ban alcohol? No, they got plastic bottles.

Was worse when they were in LA. A large percentage of the guys in the crowd had a few murders on them.
