You were probably there. It's been at least 12 years before doctors have allowed you to eat solids.

I was on Active Duty in Korea. watched it on the news at 9 PM. Everybody went on alert one hour later. Worked two weeks straight. Nobody complained or got tired.

I think the most chilling thing to me is, that people have gone over there and lost their lives, and were barely old enough to remember it. Kids just a bit older than the ones Bush was talking to that day. Its just unreal.

That day was completely surreal as it just seemed way to devastating to think about. The most chilling call I herd was from the towers above the fire where they couldn't do anything to save anyone. What bothers me the most is the fact that the flight deck doors were not locked when I thought they would be.

I might be wrong... but it was a different time. What I believe happened - the only reasonable explanation I can think of, anyway - either the cockpit doors weren't locked OR the hijackers were holding people "hostage" outside the door - after killing/injuring people already.

The pilots possibly assumed it was a normal hijacking (that sounds pretty surreal just to type) and opened the door so no one else would get hurt or killed. All I can guess is the pilots figured they were being hijacked to fly to some other location and to let the professionals negotiate with the hijackers. I believe if the pilots had ANY idea what was really about to occur, they never would have opened that door.

Up to that point, I'm sure pilots were trained to let it go and allow the professionals take over after the hijackers take you elsewhere.
