In pass protection, Turner gave up pressure twice, Warmack twice and Levitre twice and Stewart gave up a sack. I didn't remember Locker getting that much pressure.

In the run game, one of our drive stalled because on 2nd and 5 with a running play out of a fullhouse backfield, the Steelers brought Polamalu up and it confused our up back (#80) to his side. Warmack lets his guy go to get the LB (which he did) and the upback has to take the first man penetrating. Since Polamalu didn't attack the LOS, #80 did nothing and blocked no one while a defender crossed his face and got CJ from behind/side. It was a very nicely blocked play and probably would have given us a first down. Instead we blow the block and CJ gets 1 yd instead of 5+ and a new first down! Can't make those mistakes!

In the run game, Turner was better and Warmack will be a superstar! The Titans are made for running the rock!!!

I just counted 8 passing plays in the first quarter. Your numbers show 6 pressure and a sack... Jeeez. Imma have to look at that O line play more closely.

O line looked pretty bad all around to me.

I really, really hope Pittsburgh has a monster D-line, because running for 2.9 ypc vs them sure doesn't give me any confidence that it's gotten any better. Our RBs did great on 2nd efforts just to earn that bad ypc number.

Luckily we just kept running, even though it wasn't very productive. Driving the square peg into a round hole worked this time.

You have to consider the fact they knew we were running and didn't respect our passing game which led to a lot of 8 men in the box. However, through 60 minutes of play the line did push around and won in the trenches.

    Roos - 1 qb hurry
    Levitre - 1 qb hit
Turner - 1 qb hit, 4 qb hurries
    Warmack - 2 qb hurries
Stewart (still not 100%) - 1 qb sack, 1 qb hit, 1 qb hurry

Turner of course had the worst game of them all. Stewart not being 100% probably didn't help but the line played quite well by being running all day.

We had a 12 play drive where we ran the ball 11 times.

They started off rough, but seemed to settle down. Remember, this is Pittsburgh - they still have a great defense, likely Top-7 or so. Turner looked awful, hopefully Schwenke gets healthy and takes over his starting spot. Stewart has taken a step back, he can still run block but his pass blocking skills have gotten worse fast. I can see Stewie getting cut after this year, he's set to make somewhere around $6 mil. Warmack is a rookie, he'll get better every game. Levitre has no excuse.

You do realize that they had 8 or 9 ppl in the box for the majority of the game b/c they knew we were running it right lol. If we can avg 3 plus yards a carry when teams are daring us to throw the football, then I'll be just fine with that!

I'm hoping some of these pass protection issues are due to the OL not having much experience working together in protection vs. a 3-4. OL units usually take some time to gel.

The Turner issue concerns me a bit as he'll be exploited by other teams if he doesn't improve. Big Country was gimpy so I think he'll be solid when healthy. Walker should improve as well.

We sure are, and we better not get away from it either.

Less teams these days can really practice run stopping, so it's smart for a team built like ours to simply run the ball.

It may not be the trendy thing to do, but when it's winning you ball games, thats good enough.
