Im in CT and it was nuts here too. Stamford has a major number of commuters that work in the city, nobody could get anywhere that day.

Just revisiting these memories is chilling.

Yea definitely strange how a commercial airliner could knock a huge skyscraper down. I was in my senior year sitting in agriculture class as my teacher started crying and told us the exact same words. That nothing would ever be the same. We were at least allowed to watch the coverage.

If I remember correctly it wasn't the impact that took the towers down, it was the jet fuel burning and melting the steel beams.

they used 767's that were taking a transcontinental flight which meant, it had plenty of jet fuel to burn. you are correct, the impact didn't bring down the towers, they actually were burning for a bit before those steel beams melting actually gave way

I know there's a lot of skepticism to the whole deal that I don't want to get really deep into but if you do your research you will find that JP-5 doesn't burn anywhere near the temperature required to melt steel just saying. I don't want to turn this entire thread into some conspiracy theorist thread but the facts are there. Nothing will ever be done unless someone like wikileaks comes along and unveils a massive amount of evidence.

Steel melts at around 1,370°C (2500°F) it begins to lose its strength at a much lower temperature. The steel structure of the World Trade Center would not have to melt in order for the buildings to lose their structural integrity. Steel can be soft at 538°C (1,000°F) well below the burning temperature of jet fuel.
