Yesterday we beat the Steelers :bliss: But yet people are still finding things to complain about.

The biggest question seems to still be Jake Locker and his accuracy. But gauging Locker's abilities off the Pittsburgh tape isn't a good measuring stick.

Last year when Robert Griffin faced the Pittsburgh defense for the first time he posted very similar stats to Lockers. In fact Jake did everything better than RG3 except throw for a score.

Another guy Locker often gets compared to is Andy Dalton. Dalton a division rival to the Steelers and averages a measly 63 passer rating vs them (a team he studies extensively).

So for Jake Locker to put up 125 yards and no turnovers is actually a pretty big deal for a young QB taking on the daunted Steelers defense for the first time.

Below is a chart I made showing you a side by side comparison of the QB's we've had when taking on the Steelers recently. As you can see, our QB play this year really allowed for us to play team ball and pick up the win.

VY and KFC did play against stronger Steelers teams.

I agree he managed the game well, but his accuracy needs SERIOUS work, and he didn't look comfortable or confident in the pocket at all.

Get out of here with that, VY couldn't even finish a game vs the Steelers.

Good job jc. I feel better about locker now that i see how much rg3 and Dalton also struggled with the steelers d.

Andrew Luck also had his share of struggles last preseason too vs Pitt, but no one cares about preseason, but still worth pointing out.

Locker played decently yesterday, and didnt make mistakes. I am more concerned with how he approaches the houston game. I am anxious to see how houston plays rivers tonight as well. I still feel he is somewhat uncomfortable in the pocket and that needs to change.

steelers d isnt what it used to be. McNair played against a tough steelers team and managed to play very well! Imagine if Locker played against that D back in 2002. We also had a better team at the time as well, a lot of factors.

Yea, but that will come in time. He's STILL a young QB.

The Steelers defense did a great job of collapsing the pocket, thats not on Jake, thats on his line.

He looked comfortable when he was allowed to stand back there more than 2 seconds.
