Yup. The thing I take away from this game that is negative, is the WRs routes that locker has been hitting.

The comeback route will get burnt eventually if that's all he can do.

    Just saw this stat:

Steelers were 3 for 3 on 3rd downs on their opening series, 1 for 14 after that.

Defense stepped up big time, love it.

Nobody here takes you seriously. You're the guy who says the SEC is overrated. So I've always got that to fall back on. Not to mention, everything I said was accurate. You said you'd trade VY for Jake Locker. Again....you're a clown, I'm a fan.

11/20 for 125 and no scores....thats garbage. It's not all on him...the playcalling was atrocious for the entire first half. Not a single screen against a constant blitz. But he just didn't make the plays that would lead me to believe that he's a top 10 draft pick kind of guy.

Uhhh honest question, what did you expect from Locker against a top defense? I think we open up the playbook and give Locker more chances to sling the ball next week but I'm totally fine with Locker's performance outside a handful of throws. We ran a very conservative game on offense, I don't know if that was planned as a way to help Locker or if the play calling was just bad but I have a lot of faith in Locker now that he's finally healthy.

    Well, some strange points.

While the secondary did give up several 3rd and longs early, one of those was on a blitz and we crushed Ben and they barely got the first down. For a Gregg Williams/Jerry Gray D, they will likely test early to see how the teams are blocking and then start bringing the pressure later. We did just that to great effect. And while that one blitz got beat for a first down, getting big hits on the QB...especially Ben, was huge!

We didnt get the running game going? While there were ups and downs, we rran 11 out of 12 times on our scoring drive that finished with Battle running over Polomalu and on into the endzone. You are never gonna completely man handle the Steelers run D but we did in stretches. Pitt made some adjustments at times and then we changed blocking schemes and then they adjusted. We did finish with 109yds rushing with our 3 rb's and Steelers normally avg way below that in rush yards given up.

Was Locker perfect? No, but he made several nice throws and had at least 2 drops I can remember. One was a deep out route that went thru D-Will's hands on like a 3rd and 15. Keep in mind we were trying not to expose him too much to the Steelers zone blitz since he hasn't seen it before so no turnovers by him was a huge factor!

We had several mistakes on offense that hurt from penalties to missed assignments (like DWalker whiffing on his guy who killed CJ in the backfield) but some of those or alot of those should be improved for next week.

And you have to give the whole defense a ton of credit! For me they were the question mark but they were AWESOME! Defense gave up 7 points, held Big Ben to 1 td and 1 int and under 200 yards passing, sacked him at least 5 times and we defended every shot down the field. McCourty and Sensabough were memorable down the sideline deep!

And while Rey's huge mistake was on the first play of the game, no one panicked and we did what we had to do! And Rey did get us a huge return late to setup a FG to get some of those points back!

And going into Pitt who had won 10 straight home openers, that was a hard fought but great win!!!

The cool thing is, I can turn on the "serious take" card and make a thread like this, get about 30 high fives and call it a night.

People don't take me seriously because I don't want them too. You new here?

I apologize you don't understand the term "overrated".

VY and Locker both suck. It's a fair trade.
