We won our season opener in Pittsburgh and our QB had a fine game against a top defense.

I keep reading this, but I don't get it. we had the ball for 34 damn minutes. That didn't come from 11/20 passing on the day. For what was there, and the defense we played, the run game did what it is supposed to do.

Is it because CJ didn't burn out some 30+ yarders?

Every qb in the league will lose their team a game or two.

Jake, cj, and the oc did exactly what had to be done in this game. They managed the game, controlled the clock, and got out of perhaps the toughest place to play in the nfl with a w.

And yet most of the threads here are negative. Go figure.

He threw for 125 yards and completed about 50% of his passes.

When I add that to his stats and record thus far there is not much to be positive about with Locker.

Like I said, he gets the rest of this year and if he doesn't take this team to the next level he needs to go along with everyone holding a clipboard on the sideline and press box.

    Locker is awful.

Most of his completions today were on comeback routes to Nate/Britt/Williams to stationary targets.

He can't hit a moving object in stride, he's so inaccurate. He doesn't even really grasp all of the concepts as shown with the illegal shift penalty that was completely his fault. He STILL can't put points on the scoreboard. We won today because we got the Steelers B team but we're not going to win many games only scoring 16 points with that amount of TOP.

He's regressed since we drafted him, he'll never be anything more than a 3rd QB at best. I could name 35-40 QB's in the league right now that are better than him. Some of them just started their first games today.

    BTW.

Some of you ridiculed VY for winning games the exact way Jake Locker won today's game. He rode the coattail of the defense. Why does Jake get all this benefit of the doubt when VY was pretty much burned at the stake?

I don't see anyone here saying Locker is close to what the Titans need as a QB. He must play better.

Last time Young faced LeBeau, he had two INTs and a 48 passer rating.

We played the Steelers D today...not the Jags...

Saying "he'll never be anything more than a 3rd QB at best" is just unintelligent and comical. Today was a defensive battle and we needed a performance out of a QB that limited mistakes and held onto the ball. Locker did that. It wasn't special and it wasn't great, but it got the job done against a great defense. Stop critiquing the guy and enjoy the win.
