I don't believe driving while high is a major concern. Not anymore than many other ways you can be impaired/distracted while driving.

Driving drunk and driving high are completely different experiences. I've never pushed drinking and driving. I don't feel like driving while high is a threat.

I know some will try to stone me, but statistics back me up.

The situations are certainly similar. The difference being, the people dying now are not Americans. Whether that changes anything is open to debate. Is it our government's responsibility to prevent bloodshed in other countries? Even if it is half the fault of our people?

Of course there are examples for everything. I'm sure there are CEOs that smoke weed. But that is just probability. Making an example of the outlier is just a fallacy.

Out of everyone I know that smokes, (20 or so), I would consider 2 of them to be successful, and a contribution to society. The others are either deadbeats, or just living off of their rich parents' money.

So 10% of the people I know who smoke are "successful" people. Where I would estimate the # of people I know who dont smoke is closer to 50%

Small sample size, and not exactly following the scientific method, but that is basically why I believe smoking is a detriment to your life.

I don't know if it is bad for you, and I don't really care. I also don't care if it is legal or not. I do believe THC is not a good thing to have in your system.

Man. People are dying by the boatloads here in the US. We have some of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the world. The Drug War has done more to destroy this country, than drugs ever could have.

If you determine success simply by the amount of money someone makes, there are lots of successful pot smokers. As well as alcohol users. And other drug users.

The past 3 presidents and our Founding Fathers all smoked marijuana.

I looked it up and the Dutch Institute for Road Safety Research (SWOV) report "Geneesmiddelen en drugs in het Nederlandse verkeer" aka "Medicines and drugs in Dutch traffic"

As you can see cannabis is is put together 0.1 - 0.5 g/L Alcohol with a slighty increased risk.

Now that study largely uses sources from "Driving under the Influence of Drugs, Alcohol and Medicines" aka Druid, which had a huge project finishing late 2011 with this nugget from the summary page 10:

    http://www.druid-project.eu/cln_031...semination/dissemination-node.html?__nnn=true

The bolding is mine. Being under no influence of cannabis is better for your driving skills. Your claim that THC "posed NO risk at all!" is false by the very source you quoted. What can (and should) be argued is that current limit for Blood Alcohol Concentration in the US incurs a higher risk for traffic accidents than that of Cannabis and thus driving under influence of Cannabis shouldn't be fined nor prevented.
The only problem with that argument is that worldwide BAC limit for driving are going down and may eventually make being high and driving forbidden.

Note how alcohol-drug combinations are put in the most dangerous category. A beer and a bong would be ill advised and states legalizing cannabis really needs to stamp out that mixing **** is risky.

I don't care particularly about this kind of legislation nor debate, but at least have your sources right when arguing your position.

I voted no, only because it needs to be done the 'right' way and legalized across the U.S. first.
